Jimin couldn't control the rapid beating of his heart, wide eyes taking in Jeongguk's livid stare. The omega knew that the alpha's anger was not directed at the omega in any way, but it still left Jimin feeling a bit frightened. He wasn't sure what all Jeongguk was going to do if the omega went into heavy detail about what exactly happened to him.
A frigid air settled over the quietness of the village, all wolves eyeing the pair of them rather fearfully as Jeongguk continued to examine his mate. Jimin chanced a look at all those around them, seeing as some visibly trembled, genuine concern on their faces as they listened in on Jeongguk's angry words. The alpha thumbed over his neck, the omega assuming he was further studying his wounds.
"Jimin." Jeongguk called for the omega, serious and not at all amused. "Tell me."
It was a struggle, and there was no hiding from the alpha standing before him. Jimin attempted to speak, but nothing came out, parting his lips fully, but his stomach twisting. There was so much that Jimin had wanted to say; this was just one of the many things he had to endure. The omega had gone through an overwhelming amount of pain and a part of him wanted to tell the alpha everything.
But he just couldn't bring himself to do such a thing. Frustrated and feeling ashamed for feeling so weak, the omega shook his head rather meekly. Why Jeongguk wanted him, was something that Jimin still found difficult to grasp, and he didn't want to disappoint his mate.
After a moment, Jeongguk breathed out slowly, gently cupping Jimin's face, "It's okay. I'm not mad at you."
Jimin wasn't sure what to feel exactly, but relief was something that washed over him. He welcomed the loving kiss that the alpha pressed over his brow, reassuring the omega even more. After a moment, the alpha spoke up softly. "I'm not going to turn a blind eye to this, Jimin."
The omega didn't like the sound of his words, but he understood Jeongguk's need to act, especially after knowing that Jimin had been wronged. Love and affection were something that Jeongguk delivered so well to Jimin, he knew the alpha was sincere in his words. He was reassured and felt a little foolish for fearing the worst.
But Jeongguk was still an intimidating wolf; powerful and strong, enough to make even Jimin tremble in reaction to his prowess as the Grand Alpha of the Northern Territories.
Moving away from the omega, Jeongguk let out a terrifying growl, one that made the entire pact ripple with renewed fear. Jimin watched in silence as his mate slowly began to walk around the large fire, his dark eyes scanning over all the other wolves. No one dared breathe a word, apprehension clear on their faces.
"It's come to my attention by one of my best wolves and friend, that this village: this pack." Jeongguk paused, stopping in his tracks, "Have done nothing but illustrate unfairness, cruelty, and discrimination."
At that moment, Jeongguk gestured towards Jimin. "All towards my mate."
The omega didn't miss the edge in Jeongguk's tone, the way his anger vibrated with each syllable, not at all shy about expressing his displeasure. "But I know this is something that would have continued regardless of who it was. Before my mate and I leave, there will be a lot of changes here."
"Jeongguk." Someone had called out, making the alpha and the others turn. The omega swallowed thickly as he saw Namjoon walking up towards them, with Eun and Jimin's attacker tailing behind, too overwhelm to look up.
"These two are the ones who tried to kill Jimin."
Jeongguk was never the kind of wolf to lose his temper; whenever instincts were not in play, he always took pride in maintaining a calm composure. If anything, he would do his best to avoid violence if given the proper chance. However, he was currently being presented by something so foul and so treacherous, there was no controlling the nasty curl of fury and hate from taking over his now trembling form.
