"I'm leaving for the airport now, dad." I sighed. My father, Charlie, had called me asking me to go back to Forks for a while. He was worried about my older sister, Bella, who had gone into some kind of depression after her boyfriend had dumped her and left town.
"Be careful, Ari. I love you." He gruff voice came through the phone.
"I love you too, dad." I said, tears welling up in my eyes. I hadn't seen him in almost two years. After the first war, against the titans, I got caught up with helping in the infirmary. Then the second war started against the giants, and I got sent on the Argo II to be their medic. I wonder what he'll think when he sees me. What Bella will think. I haven't seen her since I was 13 and moved to New York for the majority of my time.
I was pulled out of my thoughts, mostly because I was being suffocated by my younger brother, Will.
"I'll miss you, Ari." He said.
"I'll miss you too, Will. Just don't call me every time you get a new patient. You're smarter than you think. You can do this." I told him. Now that I was leaving, Will would be head counselor of the Apollo cabin. "I love you bro." I told him, patting his back. "Now let me go or I'll miss my flight."

After a 6 hour flight, I stepped off the plane and went to grab my bags. Standing in baggage claim was one of my favorite people in the world, my dad, police chief Charlie Swan.
"Hi dad." I said, launching myself at him.
"Ari. You've grown so much." He said. "Let's grab your stuff and head out to the cruiser." He told me.

After another hour in the car, we got to our house.
"Go unpack. I'm gonna check on Bella." He said.
"Okay. I'll be in once I'm done." I said, grabbing my bags and heading up to the attic that dad and I had turned into my room years ago. It looked exactly the same. My queen-sized loft bed was covering what I assumed to be Bella's room, with a chill hangout spot underneath it. My bedding was sky blue, with a white pillow and a gold hand-knit blanket on the bottom. The hangout area had a blue shag carpet and gold beanbag chairs, a book shelf built into one of the walls. There was a small living room area in the middle of the room. A hammock hung from the ceiling, along with one of those circular hanging chairs in what I called the "no gravity zone." A bookshelf separated the living and sleeping area from my medical study space, which held a nice desk and all my medical books. There were three other rooms-a large walk-in closet, a bathroom, and a gym/training space where I could work out and practice my skills. A long time ago, dad and I had painted the ceiling to look like the sky, complete with clouds. There were large windows along the attic. One of them had a rope bridge that led out to a tree house dad had built for me when I was a kid. I would have to head out there one of these days to clean it up.
I finished unpacking and headed downstairs to see how Bella was doing. She was sitting at her window, and dad was trying to talk to her.
"Can I have some time alone with her?" I asked him. He nodded, and left the room.
"Okay, Bella. Tell me what's really going on with the Cullens." Bella and my dad can both see through the mist. Dad knows almost everything about my world. Bella knows more than he does.
"They're vampires." She said. "Dad told you how I broke my leg in Phoenix, right?" She asked, and I nodded. "Well, I didn't really fall down a flight of stairs. We had a run-in with some other vamps, and I nearly died. Edward" She winced, as if saying his name physically hurt her "he promised he'd never leave me. And now he has, I just-I've been so-"
"Depressed?" I asked. "Dad told me the way you've been acting, Bells. Tomorrow I'm taking you to see a special psychologist I know in Seattle. He'll hopefully be able to get you on some anti-depressants and help you feel better."
"What do you mean by 'special psychologist?'"
"I mean he's like me-he's kinda my brother." I said.

The next day, Bella and I got in her rusty old truck and drove into Seattle.
"Bella Swan for Dr. Johnson." I said to the receptionist.
"I don't have you down for an appointment." She said.
"Listen, Rick's my brother. My sister really needs some help, let us just go see him." I said.
"No appointment, no doctor." The receptionist argued.
"Can you just call him?" I asked. She rolled her eyes and pressed the button on her phone.
"There's a girl here, she doesn't have an appointment but she says she's your sister." She said. A couple minutes later, Rick came out into the reception area.
"Aria! And you must be Bella. What brings you in today?"
"Bella needs help, and you're the only psychologist I know that can give her the kind she needs." I said. "It has to do with our world." I said in a lower voice.
"Right this way, miss Swan." He said, leading her into his office. I turned to the receptionist, a smug look on my face.
"Like I said, Rick's my brother."

After Bella's appointment, we had lunch with Rick and headed back to Forks. We stopped at the pharmacy in town and picked up Bella's new anti-depressants, and then Bella decided we should check in on Jacob Black, who had stopped calling her and wouldn't let her see him because he had mono. We pulled up to a small house on the reservation, it was pouring at this point, and Bella put the truck in park. She stormed out and started talking to a guy. I used my super hearing to listen to what they were saying.
"Go away." He said. Rude
"What?" She asked. What, is she deaf?
"Go away." He said again, but he seemed pained, as if he didn't want her to leave.
"What happened to you? What's wrong?" He turned and started walking away. "Hey, what happened?" She said turning him to face her. Something seemed off about him though, and he smelled like-no-he couldn't be a wolf shifter, could he?
"Did Sam get to you? Is that's what's happening?" Who the Hades is Sam?
"Sam's trying to help me. Don't blame him." He said. "If you want somebody to blame, how about those filthy bloodsuckers you love? The Cullens." He said. He seemed angry. Wait, how would he know about vampires?
There was silence as Bella tried to figure out what to say.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Good girl, play dumb.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about. You've been lying to everyone, Charlie, but you can't lie to me. Not anymore Bella." A group of boys in the woods was calling to him.
"Look Bella. We can't be friends anymore." Ouch.
"Look Jake I know that I've been...hurting you. It's...it's killing me. It kills me. I just need...maybe...give me like some time or something."
"Don't! It's not you."
"It's not you, it's me, right? Really?"
"It's true. It is me. I'm not...good. I used to be...a good kid. Not anymore. This doesn't even matter, alright? This is over."
"You can't break up with me. I mean...I mean you're my best friend. You promised me." Promised her what?
"I know. I promised I won't hurt you, Bella. And this is me keeping that promise. Go home. And don't come back. Or you're gonna get hurt." He then turned and ran away, leaving Bella standing in the rain. I opened the car door and went out to her.
"Come on Bells. Let's go home."
