High school is weird.

Yesterday, my car came in from New York. My father, Apollo, had bought me a shiny 1966 red Mustang convertible. So obviously I wanted to take it to school today. Bella wanted to go in her own truck, so I followed her. All the kids gawked as I pulled into the space next to Bella's.
"Put the top up." She said.
"Why?" I asked
"It's gonna rain later. Put the top up." I listened to her and put the top up on my car. Everyone stared at me as I followed Bella to the office.
"Hi, I'm Aria Swan." I said to the lady at the front desk.
"Oh, the chief's daughter. Of course. Here's your locker number, schedule, and a map of the school. Your teachers need to sign this slip. Your sister here can give you a tour if you need one."
"Thank you." I said, smiling at the woman as I followed Bella to the hallway.
"Bella!" Someone called, and a group of teenagers came up to us.
"Who's your friend?" One of the guys asked.
"Mike, this is my sister Aria." She said.
"Wait, Aria Swan?" A short girl with brown hair and blue eyes asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Oh my god, I remember you!" She shouted. "My sister, Rebecca, is in your grade. You used to come over our house all the time."
"Oh my gods, I remember you! Jessica Stanley." I said. "Rebecca and I were best friends, Bells. I lost contact with her after I moved."
"Oh. I didn't know you were friends with Jess' sister. Neat. Anyways, here's your locker. What do you have first period?"
"I have English, then pre calc, AP biology, study hall, gym, lunch, Latin, history, and music."
"Okay so" Bella said, here's your English class. I'll see you at lunch."

English was hard. The teacher was a bitch and I'd already read Macbeth. Pre calc was easy, I finished the worksheet before everyone else and was able to get the homework out of the way and start on tomorrow's assignment. AP bio was easy too, seeing as I'm the best doctor at camp. I read from a thick medical textbook during my study hall, killed at basketball in gym, and then headed to lunch.
I was pleased to find they had a nice salad bar in the cafeteria, and got something from there. I made a mental note to pack my own lunches from now on. I found Bella and her friends at a table near the windows, and sat down with them.
"So, Ari, made any new friends yet?" Bella asked.
"Besides your friends, no. I don't think people have quite gotten over my sudden return to Forks yet." I said.
"It is weird, I mean why did you just randomly come back?" Jessica asked.
"My father and I got in a fight, and I moved back in with dad." I said, leaving out the whole 'my dad was worried about my sister and wanted me to come help.'
"So what's New York like?" Angela asked.
"I've only been to the city a handful of times. I went to school out on Long Island Sound, near a strawberry farm." I replied. I hate small towns, too many questions.
"Guys, stop grilling her." Bella said, and they quieted down. I shot her a thankful look and went back to my salad as she continued to play with her hair.

After lunch I had Latin, which was fun, then history, boring, and music, which was my favorite class by far. I got to sing and play guitar and a little piano, but then the bell rang and it was time to leave. I dropped my slip off at the office and drove home.

That night I cooked dinner, and dad and I watched the game while Bella stared out her window.
"I wish I could help her more." He said. "She's been having these terrible nightmares. They stopped for a while, but then they came back."
"When you love someone, the way she loved Edward, and they leave, it's hard. It hurts. I know." I said.
"What happened? I thought you were happy with that Jones boy." He said, referring to the son of Athena I used to date.
"He was killed in the war against the Titans." I said, looking down at my coke. I try not to think about Jesse anymore, it hurts too much. After he died, I threw myself into my studies and became the best medic at camp.
"I'm so sorry." My dad said, pulling me into his side. "I understand the pain. When Apollo left, it hurt. It still does. I haven't had a serious relationship since."
"Do you still love him?" I asked.
"Yes. I still love him."
"He wanted to stay here, with us. Zeus...he wouldn't allow it. He didn't want him to turn mortal." I said.
"I know, princess. I know." We sat just like that, watching the rest of the game in silence.

Over the course of the week, Bella slowly but surely got better. Her nightmares were less frequent, and she spent more time with me and dad and less time staring out her window. She talked more at lunch, and ate better, too. On Saturday, we drove down to the reservation because Bella wanted to see Jacob.
We both went up to the house this time, and Bella looked nervous as she knocked on the door.
"Bella? Aria?" Billy Black asked.
"I need to see him." She said
"And I'm just here for moral support, or whatever." I piped in.
"He's not in." Billy said
"I'm sorry, I really need to see him." She said, pushing her way into the house and towards Jake's room. I followed, shrugging and mouthing sorry to Billy. Bella threw open his door, only to find a sleeping Jacob Black curled up in his bed. We looked out the window simultaneously to find four shirtless boys walking towards the house, and Bella stormed outside.
"What did you do?" She asked "What did you do?" She asked again, shoving one of the guys. "What did you do to him?" She asked, and the guys were getting angrier, one was shaking. I pulled on my bracelet, making sure my sword and shield were ready in case of a fight.
"He didn't want this." Bella said, staring into the eyes of the angry guy.
"What did we do?" He asked. "What did he do? What'd he tell you?" Shifters.
"Both of you, calm down." Another one said. Must be the alpha.
"Nothing. He tells me nothing because he's scared of you." The wolves started laughing. Bella slapped him.
"Bella!" I shouted.
"Bella, get back." The alpha said. "Paul, calm down."
"Bella, run!" I shouted. "Run!" But she wasn't listening to me. Suddenly Paul changed into a huge grey wolf. A huge, angry grey wolf. Bella started to run, and I got ready to charge.
"Bella!" Jacob shouted, launching himself over the back porch.
"Run! Jake run!" Bella shouted. He leapt over her, shifting in midair.
"Okay, Bellsy." I said, putting away my sword and shield. "Time to tell you about wolf shifters."
