The wind blew in my hair as I rode on my older brother's motorcycle. The feeling of relief and love as I clutched onto my brothers shoulders. Every since we got separated 4 years ago I thought my life was over. Never thought I would see Daryl or Merle again. Over the 4 years away from them I had picked up on a few things. I just remember the utter fear I felt when I lost them. I guess that's where my story begins.

23/4/2010 (Atlanta)

I could hear both my brothers rushing around. Grabbing essentials and collecting weapons from their hunting collection. I didn't know what was going on, all they told me was that bad people were coming and that we had to leave to get to a safe place. I was really scared. I felt my oldest brother Merle grab my hand. "Come on Daisy. We gotta go." He said as he pulled me towards his car. I climbed in and watched as Daryl and Merle jumped in.

The car started and we quickly drove out of the driveway and down the road to leave Atlanta. "D, what's going on?" I whimpered and I felt fear. Daryl looked at Merle before turning to me. "Remember I said that bad people were coming?" I nodded and he continued, "Well those bad people are very scary people. And we have to leave town so we don't get caught. Do you understand?" I nodded my head.

I turned to my left and saw someone walking very slowly and with a limp. As soon as I could see their face I gasped. His face was all burnt and his eyes were grey. I squealed and hide my face into my bunny. I could hear my brothers trying to work out where to go but they couldn't make up their mind.

The radio buzzed on and I could hear a mans voice all static. "I can now confirm that this terrible disease is now a global pandemic. The dead are rising and walking. It is crucial that you do not encounter these creatures at any point. If you have no choice the only known point to kill them is a blow to the head. Stay safe Atlanta. Chris Hooper signing off." The radio switched off and I looked up to see Daryl with his face in his hands.

"Day? Are we going to die? I don't want to die? I'm scared." I said after snuggling closer into my blankets and bunny while feeling tears roll down my face. I was expecting my brothers to turn to me and say 'no' and that 'we will be okay' but neither of them escaped his lips. Instead he turned to me and sighed. I could see the fear in his eyes and that gave me my answer making me feel more scared then I did.

"Daisy....try and get some sleep. It's going to be a long drive." Merle said as he drove, eyes still on the road while glancing to his mirror to see me. I nodded my head and put my head on the door using my blankets as a pillow. I could feel sleep creeping up on me. I closed my eyes and let the last thing my brother said send me to sleep.

"We love you Daisy. Remember, survive"

I felt the car rattle and shake which jolted me awake. I looked around to see both my brothers gone and the car was surrounded by the monsters. Loads of them. I screamed and cried. When I sat up and looked around outside the best I could, my brothers were nowhere in sight.

I sinked down onto the floor of the car hoping that the monsters would forget that I was here and leave. I hugged myself with my knees up to my chest as the car rocked back and forth. I covered my eyes and ears trying to block out the noise.

I sat still. I didn't move. I was too scared to move. I wanted to call out to my brothers but I didn't want to attract more. So I stayed quite and still for a long time. I'm not sure how long but after a while the banging and the noises stopped. I waited a little bit longer after it stopped to look out of the window.

We had stopped in the middle of the road. Forest of trees hung all around. They left me. I thought as I felt myself feel lost and scared once again. I looked all around the car and beyond before climbing out of the car. I slowly stood out of the car and looked at the blood stained windows before running into the forest. I ran and ran as fast as I could to get to someone. Somewhere.

I fell to the ground after tripping and spraining my ankle. I heard a growl behind me and turned to see one of the monsters sitting up against the tree trying to grab me. I screamed a little before kicking his hand and getting up and limping away. I came to a stop when I heard a twig break.

Quickly I hid behind the tree not wanting anymore unwanted attention. I closed my eyes as I prayed that the noise would turn in the other direction but it didn't. It got closer to me. The thought of running crossed my mind but I was too afraid to move.

By the time the noise was right next to me, the monster fell to the ground as I heard a loud BANG! I closed my eyes before looking up to see a man standing with a gun held in front of him. He saw me and almost gasped.

"Hi. Hi. I'm not gonna hurt you-I promise. My name is Raymond. I can help." He whispered very quietly crouching down to show he wasn't a threat. He had a thick British accent and brown hazelnut hair. I looked as he held his hand in front as for me to take it. I looked at him scared but he nodded.

"You're safe now." I held his hand as he helped me stand to my feet. "That's better. Now, what's your name, sweetheart." He said in his British accent. I looked at him before nodding. "Dixon. Daisy Dixon." I said loud and proud. My British man smiled at me and began to lead me with him. As we walked towards the edge of the forest I heard my brothers voice as the last thing he said came into my mind.

Survive.

Just thought you should know. In this chapter Daisy is 10. Same as Carl. The only reason that the dialog seems more like an adult would say and think is because I feel like my writing from a child's P.O.V is not the best. And this is more easy to understand. Anyway, thanks for reading.
