Hey everyone~!
As many of you know, a second season of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) is coming out in October. However, I am making no promises that I will update this story for season two in October.
As of now, this story is officially completed and will remain completed until I determine whether or not I will continue for season two. There are a couple factors that contribute:
1. According to the season two trailer, Souei seems like he will be a large part of the anime, but I still have to determine exactly how large of a role he plays and if there is enough for me to write. Since Souei is one of the main characters of this fanfiction, it starts getting hard to write in parts for Souei without changing the scenes too much if he isn't in it in the first place.
2. For the sake of having a consistent story, I tend to prefer writing for a completed anime. This ensures that I don't end up having to deviate from the anime too much as the episodes progress since I already know what happens. Also, it makes it easier for me to develop the character and their backstory when I already know how they're going to be fitting in the story. In this case, Kumiko's back story has already been developed, but her involvement and development in the second season still depends on the the outcome of the anime and how the rest of the characters contribute. Assuming that 'airing' means once a week for 12 episodes, I might not be updating 'season two' for this story until all the episodes are aired in about December of 2020 or January of 2021
3. I don't know if the relationship between Soka and Kumiko made it obvious, but I didn't really like Soka. O.O It may be because I am Kumiko's creator or because I simply am in love with Souei and I don't think that Soka is worthy of him or maybe both, but I struggle to watch sections that she's in just because I don't really like her in general, so that may affect how much I'm willing to write
4. Sorta contrary to number 3, if Soka appears enough around Souei in the second season, I will write just for the sake of appeasing myself that Souei remains loyal to Kumiko in my head. XD
So basically, what I'm trying to say is: Season two for Black Shadow is still up in the air. I make no promises as of right now whether or not I will be writing a season two. Most likely, if I do, season two will be added right into this story instead of being it's own. It makes it easier to keep together on Wattpad and if this story is in your library at that time, you'll get a notification for it. :) My final decision will be made later in the year once season two starts airing and I'll post another announcement on this story to let you all know of my decision.
