Void

Beginning

         I'm sitting on my porch waiting for Colton to come take me to school. He spends an awful long time preparing for school that I wonder if we switched gender traits by mistake. Colton is my elder brother by three years and a big snub. If he had his way, I'm sure he'll prefer I walk to school. He is the school bad boy and a basket ball player. I on the other hand am a nerd who has a life and doesn't. I'm not really nerdy you know, I mean I have a great shape and an average face so I could easily pass as beautiful but the problem is I don't belong anywhere. Hard to believe but true. My thoughts get interrupted by his royal highness who is finally ready for school
  "Audrey come quickly, am gonna be late and get detention again"Colton shouted from the car side.
How did he get past me without my notice, I wondered. Anyway I just rolled my eyes at him and walk extra slow to the passenger side of his car.

School is always bubbly with activities of all kinds and everyone walking and talking with their group mates. Being a loner, I just walk to the side of my locker and take my arithmetic textbook to read. I wanted to be a little above the teacher in the subject so I go to my favorite quiet spot in the whole school to read my book. On my way there, Skye my best friend in the whole world stops me.

"Wait there you sneak"
"Oh hey Skye"
"Hey you, where do you think you're running off to? "
  Sometimes she acts like my mum and scared the sh*t out of me.
"Ummm... "I began... Think dumb head think.
"Hmmm I thought so. If you don't have anything to do why don't you come with me to cheerleaders practice. I'll be fun I promise. "She started giving me the puppy dog look.
"I don't know... Skye I was going to read my ari... "
"Yay so since you're not busy can we gooooo"
"But I said I'm going to re... "I began again but was interrupted again
"Come on Audrey please" I look at my best friends face and I just couldn't refuse that look. Damn her persuasive personality
"Okay fine. Let's go"
"That's more like it" she said giving me a pat on my back leading me towards the sports room.
Growing up I've had gymnastics training and even now I'm fit but the reason why I've refused to join the cheerleaders is something new to me. It has been my dream to be a gymnast but that dream died a long time ago taking my self esteem with it. Now a just a futureless empty walking shell.
Skye is talking and laughing with her friends in the cheer leading crew. Everyone is talking with each other except me. I feel like I don't belong here so I just quietly sneak out of the room going towards my first classroom for the day.
The day goes by in a blur and before I realize, its already lunch.   Lunch is another trying period for me as I don't really feel comfortable eating with my friends. Yup you heard right. I have friends but the issue is I don't belong in this crew neither do I belong in any. Nevertheless, I take my food to the cafeteria and go to our table whilst my friends are talking.
"Look what the cat dragged in" This was Daily's way of greeting anyone.

"Hi guys"

"Hi yourself. How dare you just run off leaving me alone in the sports room"Skye fumed

"You looked like you were doing good on your own" I mumbled

"What was that? "

"Oh nothing. Am sorry" I replied

"Huff" looks like she's still mad well whatever.

"What have you been up to?"
That was Joyce.

"Just the usual that's all" I replied

"By the usual she means the boring" daily added and everybody laughed.

After that we continued eating withe everyone talking and laughing. I don't really enjoy the noise so I eat my food a little too quickly and make up and excuse and leave.
