Chapter 1: Change Of Plan

Ming Zhu's POV:

I was having breakfast with Akira and Mika in the dining hall. Akira was having cereal while me and Mika were eating hard-boiled eggs and rice. Then we heard thunder close to us and we were surprised. That made some of Akira's milk spill onto her.

"Awww, I just washed this!" Akira said as the milk soaked her jacket further. "Now, I have to wash this again...".

"Why would there be thunder at this time? It's sunny outside" Mika said.

"Unless..." I mused and we realised and we all looked at each other and said at the same time "Hideki".

We hurriedly went to the source of the lightning strike.

"I think it came from outside!" Mika said and we ran to get outside. We saw Master Oda the other samurai were there in front of Hideki. We were worried about what was going on.

We saw Jin confronting Hideki the best he can because he's afraid of both Hideki himself and his lightning power. We saw Hideki glaring at us sinisterly, showing off his lightning.

"Hideki, you need to calm down..." Jin told Hideki as he negotiated with him. "There's no need for this!".

"Stay. Away!" Hideki answered back at Jin, which made him use his lightning to intimidate Jin.

That terrified Jin and he ran off behind Shang. "I'm not getting any closer!" Jin said. "W-Would a-anyone else like to t-try?" Jin asked, cowering in fear. Then Master Oda stepped up to try and talk to him.

"Hideki... this is not helping you with your illness" Master Oda told him.

Then suddenly, Hideki got another headache and we were very concerned about him.

"Hideki, I think you should rest in your room for a while..." Master Oda suggested.

Hideki then answered "Fine. Don't. Bother. Me!". He then went up the steps and went past us. We all got out of his way so we do not start any disputes with him.

He then went up to the steps leading up to our rooms and he turned around, glaring at us. "Any. Of. You!" he told us and he retreated to his room.

We were all concerned for him and very confused as to what occurred earlier. I was worried about his current state. Isaac really made him suffer.

"Isaac really did a number on him, huh?" Baron told us. "Is he always this antsy to you guys?" he asked us.

"Never like this..." Shang answered.

"Yeah, like this is just next level" Rizosomi added. "Sure, he was cold to us but... this is just out there".

We then returned to our daily routine after we had processed what had occurred. I was about to go to my room but Master Oda called me.

"Yes, Master Oda. Do you need something?" I asked.

"Ming Zhu, can you come to my office? I need to talk to you for a moment..." Master Oda sternly told me.

After he told me that, he then went back to his office. Seeing that it was serious, judging by Master Oda's stern tone when he asked me to come to his office, I followed him to his office.

"Hey Ming Zhu! Where're you going?" I heard Akira ask me.

"Master Oda needed me for something..." I told her.

"Oh, okay. I'll see you later then!" she happily said and she went upstairs.

I then had to Master Oda's office door and I knocked on it.

"Come in, Ming Zhu..." I heard Master Oda call me and I opened the door.

I then went inside the room and Master Oda stopped doing his paperwork to talk to me.

"What did you call me for, Master Oda?" I asked him.

He sighed and told me "It is no secret that Hideki has been suffering from this illness, correct?".

"Y-Yes, Master Oda" I answered.

"Tell me , Ming Zhu..." he said. "When did this first happen?".

"It first happened during our attack on the New Order..." I explained. "We were battling the New Order guards and suddenly... Hideki started to have a headache. We were concerned about him but he put it off as him being fine. Jin theorised that he was suffering from extreme stress".

Master Oda then answered "I see...". "The thunder god had visited me last night, to heal Hideki's illness but he threatened that if he doesn't heal soon...".

"What will happen?" I asked him, with worry and suspense crawling on me.

Master Oda sighed and he answered "He will kill Hideki...".

I was devastated as I heard that the thunder god would kill Hideki if he didn't heal soon from his illness. I started tearing up because I was very worried about Hideki.

"Seeing that you have experience at being a caretaker..." Master Oda said. "I figured that I will assign you to take care of Hideki until he gets better...". "Can you handle this? I understand if you do not want to--" Master Oda said but I interrupted him by me saying "I'll do it".

"Well then, I hope you can help him..." Master Oda told me. "You are to report to me daily on your progress"

"I will do my best!" I replied and I went out of Master Oda's office.

I then prepared myself to become a caretaker again. I used to be a caretaker for a governor once when I was young. His commands for me were simple; cooking, cleaning, and watching over his son. But this time, it's different. Hideki can be very difficult at times but I will do my best to take care of him.

"Hey, Ming Zhu!" I heard Akira call to me.

I turned to where she was and she was in the dojo with Mika, waving to me. I went to them to why she wanted to talk to me.

"So, what did Master Oda talk to you about?" Akira asked me.

"It seemed very urgent..." Mika added.

"Master Oda asked me to take care of Hideki until he gets better" I answered them.

They were both surprised at what I said. Then Akira said "Oh yeah, you were like a watcher before, right?".

"A caretaker, Akira..." Mika told her.

"Eh, I think it's the same thing" Akira said as she shrugged.

"Oh yeah, and I'm sure you wanted the job because you have a crush on--" Akira teased me but I interrupted her by saying "Please, do not continue!".

Both Mika and Akira giggled because I got a little flustered. I did tell them a few months ago that I had a crush on Hideki and they have been teasing me as I had been teasing them. I should take this opportunity to get to know Hideki a little better.

3rd Person POV:

Hideki was in his bedroom, laying on his bed while looking up to the ceiling. He could still hear the voices inside his head, causing him headaches and stress. The voices in his head almost sounds like Isaac's voice.

"Get. Out. Of. My. Head!" Hideki screamed while clutching his head with both of his hands.

"You're useless!", "Never worthy", "No chance of redemption" were some of the voices that Hideki was hearing. They repeated and overlap each other which made him suffer excruciating headaches.

"Leave. Me. Alone!" Hideki told the voices but the voices still kept going in his head.

"Anyone... Help. Me. Please..." Hideki whispered to himself.

He then looked to his right to see Ming Zhu with a worried expression and she then asked him "Are you alright, Hideki?".
