The sun was beaming down hot rays of fire onto my skin as I bathed in the heat. Sweat rolled down my skin and even though the wind was blowing, the hot air made my skin burn from the heat more.

"Baby!" Damien interrupted my reading yet again. Christ! I wasn't ever going to get this book finished, was I?

"What?" I yelled frustratedly down at the water. He spun around in his place and smiled at me.

"I know you're trying to get that book finished but I can't help but think about how empty this water is without my heart of the Ocean with me."

"Okay titanic, you want me to join you?"

"Yes please." He pleaded with puppy eyes. I put my book down with another overdramatic sigh making him laugh and stripped off my kaftan. His eyes trailed down from my face and to my legs.

"Hey! Eyes are up here." I scold. He holds his hands in the air as a sign of mock surrender.

"I'm sorry that I can't help but appreciate the view. You know I'm a leg man." He smirks and winks.

"You're such a player."

"Only for you." He swims closer towards me and leans on the decking floor. "Now get in here." I scream as he tugs on my ankle and drags me forwards, my butt skims the floor just by an inch and I break into a sweat that turned cold when the water surrounded my body.

"You're a horrible horrible man, Damien." I whine and push my wet hair out of my face.

"I can show you horrible if you want." He grips my waist and pulls my body into his, trailing his hands to the knot of my bikini top and slowly loosening it.

"No! Don't you dare." But that didn't stop him.

"So, have you enjoyed the past week here?" He asked me as I float above the water.

"It's been lovely. Hard at first, I haven't been away from Rhys for this long before and it feels like I've abandoned him-"

"Which you haven't." He interrupted, I glared at him and he became silent.

"I know that I haven't, but it feels like I have. It's like a pit in my stomach that's been filled with rocks and putting pressure on it trying to rip out of my body. That's why I hate leaving Rhys because I can't part from him. He was my comfort during my times of need, when I needed someone there, even if he couldn't talk back to me, I would hug him and tell him everything leaving out the... major details." I sigh. "I had no one, no mum, no dad, no one. Just Rhys, Mary-Jane was there sometimes but she had her own life I couldn't put anything like that on her, it just wasn't right."

"You could have come to me." I scoffed.

"Yeah right! You hated me, or at least that's what I thought. You had sent me away when you found out about Rhys, I couldn't trust you."

"I understand that, but you could have come to me."

"I didn't think I could, the last time I had seen you you blamed me for Louise breaking up with you."

"Could you blame me?" I shot him an incredulous look. "I don't mean it like that, I mean after what I had thought to myself I then came up with excuses that it was your fault. You were the one that came into my office and seduced me the day that Rhys was conceived."

"That is correct but I don't know why you blamed me because it does take two to tango."

"You are right about that Miss Lea." He holds me by the waist and pulls my body into the water so I was covered to the shoulders. "I love you."

"I love you too, Mr Clark."

"Oh Miss Lea, you sound so naughty when you call me that." He growls.

"Well I hope I get a punishment." I tug my lip in between my teeth and bite down onto it.

"Oh you definitely will."

Our day of lounging around was a nice break away from hiking or swimming or any other activity we had tried out this week so far. We forgot about our tiny disagreement and spoke about everything and anything all day, it was as if we had just met and were getting to know each other. The heat grew worse and we ended up coming into the hut because the suncream started to stop working, so we showered it off and watched a few funny videos online and ordered some food to the hut.

Which is why we were here, Damien talking to me about becoming a history teacher... again. He wouldn't stop pestering me about it and offering to pay for tuition but he wouldn't get it through his head that I wouldn't let him pay for it.

"So have you thought about doing History?" He asks and I rolled my eyes but just as I was about to answer, my phone's ringtone filled the silence between us.

"Hello." I answered.

"Is this Marley Lea?" The voice cracked through the terrible signal out here.

"This is she." I wiggled in my seat.

"I'm calling from St George's Hospital..." Her words became a distant ringing, my eyes were trained on the Ocean View from our open decking doors. Damien was sat next to me, not paying attention to anything around him but me, his lips were moving but I couldn't hear a word he was saying. Everything was silent, the woman's voice on the end of the line was the only thing I was trying to focus on, her words were leaving and then coming back when she said something important. "Accident... critical condition... next of kin... coma..." I couldn't focus.

"Okay. Thank you, I'll be there soon." I whispered down the phone. The call ended and I put my phone down on the bed, staring at my food but losing my appetite even more as I looked at it. Damiens hand grasps mine and even through the warmth from his skin seeped into my warm skin, I felt cold. It was like ice was running through my veins and I nothing could warm me.

"What is it?" Damien asked, it takes me a few seconds to process what he said and when my brain catches up with everything else I let the next few words fall from my lips.

"It's James. He's been in an accident."
