Complexity. This word has always described perfectly my life. Especially when I want a girl with all my heart but can't have her because of fraternity problems. Yes, this is the situation I'm currently dealing with.

I've laid down in my bed a while ago and, not able to contain them, let the tears flow on my cheeks. I'm devastated. I shouldn't be, because I let this happen in the first place and it's my own fault, but the loss of her is one of the worst things that happened to me.

Everything started on a Saturday night, when I was at a party at a certain Chloe's house. Yes, it's her we're taking about. Just the mention of her name makes my breathing difficult. She's naturally hot : green eyes, long brown hair, beautiful lips, freckles. She had everything beautiful combined in one face and she didn't even realise it. I guess it's what makes her beautiful. I was going to get a drink to stop being bored when I literally bumped into her. That was so hard that she fell on the floor. In perfect gentleman, I handed her my hand to help her getting up and it's when it was clear : I was falling. Not literally falling, like on the ground as she just did before, but that's it. I was falling in love with her.

We made eye contact for what seemed eternity before she got up, still not letting go of my hand. I presented myself and she stuttered her name back. By now, everything's perfectly fine. Nonetheless, my brother, Robbie as his real but also called "motherfucker" these days (only by me though) had to ruin it all. He had seen us and he just took me away from her, like that, as if he had the right to.

-"Don't fall in love with her." he said with all seriousness.

-"Too late, bud." I replied arrogantly.

-"Wait, really? You two met each other like two seconds ago!"

-"That's what we call love at first sight, bro. And we can't stop that from happening."

-"Well, you will learn to." he said, getting closer to me. "Because I've wanting Chloe for the past two months and she finally seemed to notice me. You're NOT gonna ruin that!"

I sighed. There was no need to argue : he didn't want me in his territory. Robbie and I had always been close. He was all I had, our parents constantly gone to some place or another for job meetings. Besides, I couldn't afford the appartment we were living in all by myself, so I couldn't handle a fight that would separate us, only for a girl that I just met.

-"Stay away from people that care about me please. Don't steal them from me!"

He had always been jealous of my popularity. But I understood him. I wouldn't be happy either if Shaun or Sammy would have more friends than me.

-"Promise?" he snapped me out of my thoughts.

-"Promise." And on that we shook our hands.

After that, Robbie's tiredness caused him to go home whilst I was still wanting to stay. Knowing what was gonna happen next, I would have left with my brother...

After Robbie's departure, I went in the living room where a lot of people were sitting, forming a big circle.

-"Rye, we're playing at Spin The Bottle. Do you wanna play?" one of my several friends asked me.

-"Okay" I said, having seen Chloe in the crowd and secretly hoping this childish game would make me kiss her.

The bottle was spinning and people were kissing. I had kissed two girls and one boy yet, but I wouldn't be leaving until I'd kiss Chloe. One hour later, I claimed it was my last round. It was my turn to spin it and the bottle was nice this time : it stopped on Chloe. I moved on my knees closer to her and we kissed, without tongue though, but I still had butterflies in my stomach. She then smiled shyly at me while I decided to head home. I was feeling like I was laying on a cloud : I kissed her, but I could pretend it wasn't my fault because we were playing a stupid game and I'm not the kind of person refusing kissing someone while playing at the bottle.

The next Monday, at school, people were looking suspisciously at me, almost like I'm about to murder them or something! I then walk to my locker, which was right beside Sonny's, my best mate.

-"Do you know why everyone's looking at me like I'm dangerous?" I asked laughing.

-"Is it true?" he asked back, looking me dead in the eyes.

-"What?"

-"Is the rumor true?" he said, probably thinking I didn't hear him the first time.

-"What rumor?" I asked him, all confused.

-"Ask Robbie." he said, like he didn't want to be the one announcing the bad news. I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed my brother's number.

-"What's the rumor about me Robbie?"

-"Oh hello! Well, the rumor says you cheated on your girlfriend with a girl on Saturday."

-"What?! I don't even have a girlfriend!"

-"I know, but--"

-"If I find the bastard who started the rumor..."

-"It's me"

-"What?!"

-"I started the rumor"

-"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"

-"BECAUSE YOU KISSED CHLOE ON SATURDAY!"

-"No! We were playing at "spin the bottle!"

He hung up. I sighed. I thought that Robbie would be angry at me for weeks. Seems like I was wrong. He had been for months. Until he found a way to ask Chloe out and she said yes.  They have been together for two weeks now and Robbie announced me the "good news" this morning. And here I am, laying in my bed, with red puffy eyes, a broken heart and the obligation to go to school tomorrow because it won't be the weekend anymore...

Great.
