The harp started the familiar tune and Taylor began walking down the isle. He gown fluttered around her as he father slowly guided her to the alter. I glanced at Parker who looked positively speechless. For once he wasn't sure what to say. Taylor smiled as she came to the steps in front of her. Her eyes never left Parker. Her dad kissed her and left to sit next to her stepmother in the front pew. She took a step up the stairs. I'm not sure if her toe hit the step or she stepped on the hem of her dress but she fell face first onto the ground.
"Called it!" I said and Parker gawked at me open-mouthed. "I called that too!" I said pointing at him then bent over to her. "You okay?" I whispered.
"Yeah. How's my hair?" She asked as I helped her to her feet.
"Perfect." I said returning to my spot. She stood across from him and smiled. He was looking at me now, his face completely shocked. Taylor and I were trying not to laugh.
"Um...shall we begin?" The priest asked.
"Yes, sir." Parker said, shaking his head at the two of us.
I cleared my throat. "Eh-hem."
"Oh! Right! Sorry." Taylor reached into her bra and pulled out a twenty. She handed it to me and I promptly stuffed it into my bra. The audience laughed.
"Continue." I said as if nothing had happened. I spare you most of the details because I don't know about you but I'm not a huge fan of weddings. Shall I skip to the vows? Yeah, that sounds good.
"Taylor Kay Plott, you are loud, obnoxious, and a ball of crazy but you're my ball of crazy. You make the weirdest bets," He glanced and me and the crowd laughed, "You can't whisper worth a damn, and you're constantly spouting random shit. You drive me absolutely nuts and I can't live without you. I never thought I would be able to stand at the alter with a woman but when I met you there wasn't a doubt in my mind that I could spend the rest of this life and the next and the next with you. I love you." He slid the ring on her finger and I looked out into the pews to see very few dry eyes.
"Parker Axle Jones, I'm pretty sure your name is made up of last names which is honestly so weird but I'm proud to be able to share one with you. You are one of the few people who willingly put up with my crazy and for that I am grateful. I know I'm not exactly easy but you're no picnic either! You never wash your socks for one, but I don't care because you are the love of my life and I know in my heart that you will be the only man I will ever marry. You except my schemes and when I meddle in things I know I shouldn't. I can't imagine marrying anyone else. I love you." Taylor said.
"I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." The priest said and man did they kiss.

"Hally! I haven't seen you in ages." Kyle said a couple of hours later at the reception. He was tall and built. His tanned skin mad his teeth look extremely white.
"I know. How are you?" I said struggling to maintain the smile I had plastered on my face all day.
"I'm really good. I'm finally happy--not that I wasn't happy with you, I mean, you're great...I just--" He stumbled around his words before I cut him off.
"Kyle, it's okay. I understand. You finally get to be yourself, no more hiding, of course you're happy. I'm happy for you. Dean is a great guy and he is a lucky one too." I touched his elbow, "You deserve to be happy Kyle."
"Speaking of Dean and being happy...we're getting married!" He smiled broadly.
"That's...amazing! Congratulations." I said giving him a hug.
"Thanks. You'll be in the wedding of course and you can meet Dean's brother. The doctor. You know he's single and still has all of his hair. In fact, I think he's here. I should introduce you! You two will hit it off, I'm sure." Kyle looked around.
"Kyle, I appreciate it but I have enough people trying to set me up, I don't need you too. Now, if you'll excuse me I need a drink." I said making a B-line for the open bar which was Parker's idea, bless him. "Scotch and soda, mostly scotch." I told the bar tender.
"Long night?" He asked grabbing a glass and making my drink.
"You have no idea. I think I'm going to be back a few times tonight." I said taking a large swig of my drink.
"Oh. My. God." I heard a few feet away and I turned to see what was going on, "Hally Stark! Is that you?" Kelly Jacobs, a girl who would make Gandhi violent, called cheerily at me. I gave a fake smile and waved slightly. "I heard about Kyle, being gay and all, such a shame!" She said loudly before coming closer.
The bartender picked up the bottle of scotch and pour more into my glass. "Thanks." I said.
He nodded. "Yup."
Kelly reached me with a huge smile on her face. "I mean you must have been devastated. If I found out my boyfriend was gay I'd probably die of embarrassment. How did you get through it?" She asked dramatically.
"Lots of this stuff." I said raising my glass to my lips.
She laughed. "I heard you got a book deal. Is that true?"
"Kinda. Everything is still being processed but it's pretty much a done deal. I just have to think of a title for it. It will be a huge relief when this is all over though." I said.
"Well, on the bright side the stress seems to be helping you loose some weight. Have you seen Bryan anywhere? I can't see to find him." She said off-handily.
Bryan was Taylor's younger brother. "No, can't say I have."
"That boy is so hard to keep track of, if he didn't wonder off so much then maybe I could get a dance with my boyfriend in." She said casually.
"Mmm. Well, I better get back to the bride and see if she needs anything. I'll see you around." I said leaving quickly.
"Oh, well---" She started to say but I didn't hear the rest of it. On my way to the table I finished the rest of my drink and deposited it on one of the waiter's empty trays. I made my way through the crowd to find Taylor. I wanted to make sure she was doing okay, sometimes in stressful situations she freaked.
When I found her she was just leaving the table. "Oh good!" She said when she saw me, "I need someone to help me pee with this dress on. Have you had any champagne yet?" I shook my head and she grabbed two from a passing waiter and handed one to me.
"Taylor, are you going to tell her or not?" Parker asked.
"Tell me what?" I said suspiciously.
"I was just about to." She told him. She grabbed my hand and started to lead me to the bathroom.
"Okay, what the hell?" I asked hopping onto the the counter.
"You might want to get a buzz going first, I know I do." She said tossing back her head and downing the champagne in one gulp. I did the same because if I knew anything about my friend, she did some really stupid shit.
