Narrator's POV

"So, as you know, part of the cast is already selected because, yeah. Sony Pictures, Sony Music, it's all under the same company, so they want to use some people from the record label for your little movie."

The novelist just nodded her head without even paying full attention. This was now her fourth meeting this week. After the interview Camila had gotten for her went by successfully and the studio offered to buy her story, everything just flashed by before her eyes. She gets to be involved in the whole process and since she's not exactly a qualified screenwriter, the studio hired one to turn her novel into a screenplay while she gets to stay by the side and watch everything happen.

And apparently, the screenwriter they've hired is a workaholic. Literally, she was sleeping peacefully in her bed last night, and just this one time she forgot to turn off her sounds, she'd get a phone call at 4 in the morning. The screenwriter guy just finished his part and asked if she wanted to look through it... at four A.M.

So she most definitely hasn't had enough sleep last night to focus on anything right now.

"Alright, then let's meet your cast."

Y/N just gave him a tired nod as he called in his secretary to bring in the people.

Sure enough, about 5 people entered the enormous office they were sitting in. The Y/E/C-eyed girl swirled in her chair to look at them, but one of them immediately caught her eyes.

Wow, you really gotta be kidding her right now.

She had to rub her eyes to make sure she's not hallucinating or being delusional, but it really seemed like it was her. And she had a smile on her face.

"... And lastly, we have Ally Brooke, who will play the female lead."

Okay, so she's definitely not dreaming. It really is her. Her as in the ex that's left her heartbroken four years ago. The same one that chose her rising career over her own girlfriend without even a second thought about it.

Oh, how the fucking tables have turned.

The novelist crossed her arms over her chest and gave Ally a really cold look. "I'm guessing I don't have a say about changing some people of the cast?" she asked the biggest man in the room, though her eyes never left her ex. She just wanted to make sure that she knew she wanted her kicked off of this.

"Nope."

Y/N shot everyone a smile out of politeness before grabbing Ally's arm and dragging her out of here without asking. "I wanna talk with her real quick."

They walked out of that office and entered a new empty one somewhere down the hall. The novelist pushed the shorter girl inside and slammed the door shut behind her. She turned back around with flames literally burning in her eyes. "Allyson Brooke Hernandez, are you fucking kidding me? Please tell me you are."

The shorter girl hopped on the table that was in here and just smiled at her. "I don't know why you're making a big deal out of it."

Y/N's jaw dropped at that. She pointed at herself and just looked at her with a ridiculed expression. "I'm making a big deal out of it? I fucking loved you, Ally. And you dumped me right away because you're label told you so. You were acting like our relationship never meant shit to you. And now you're just gonna waltz back into my life?"

"We were just two naive high school kids. Would you really call that love?"

The novelist hated how casual she was being over this. The soft smile hasn't left Ally's lips the entire time and she was looking at her with such gentle eyes too. That really made me wonder if she was just the one that's overreacting.
