Narrator's POV
"We're now on air with the one and only Camila Cabello," the interviewer announced as he spread his arm to gesture to the singer that was sitting on the opposite side of the table.
Camila adjusted the mic that was hanging in front of her and smiled widely. "Hi!"
"Welcome back! It's been a while, huh?"
"Yeah, definitely. It's good to be back," she said with a little swirl in her chair.
The interviewer flipped through his notes as his eyes scanned over the questions. "So you took a break from the music to go to college. How was that?"
"It was really different," she replied. "Instead of traveling from states to countries, it was constantly going back and forth between the library and the lecture halls. But yeah, I feel like I've learned to look at things through a different perspective, I've learned a lot in general, and I guess I've experienced what a normal life feels like without all the spotlights and camera. I don't think I'll do it again, but I definitely didn't regret it."
"That's great to hear," the interviewer smiled. "Any hard partying? Dating?"
"There were a lot of cute people there, but uhm." Camila laughed lightly. "Nope."
It was hard to find someone that genuinely liked her for her instead of only her music and fame. Most people at college just treated her some sort of goddess, so yeah no, she didn't do much dating there.
"And now the question that everyone's waiting for... when's the new music coming?"
"Soon," the singer said in a mysterious tone.
The interviewer leaned back into his chair. "Aww, come on. Not even a little bit of tea?"
"Well, I'm currently still working on my album. Nothing's sure yet, but there's this one song that I really like right now, so... that might be my first single."
That was a lie. She didn't like that song and it surely won't be her first choice as a single, but her label liked it and wanted it to be.
"What's the song about?" the interviewer asked curiously, and you know, just doing his job.
Camila subtly glanced over at her team behind the cameras, looking unsure. She knew that if she's really gonna release this song, people would start to get suspicious over her sexuality. Once she's told what the song is about, there'll be no coming back anymore.
Her team just nodded for her to continue. This was partly her decision too after all. She can't just back out of it now.
"The song is about somebody in the club catching your eye, and just you know, kinda flirt with them. It's just a sexy, fun, summer song to dance to," the singer said as normally as she could.
"I can already tell that's gonna be a summer bop."
Camila smiled, still kinda tense. "Thanks."
The interviewer looked down on his notes again. "So... you were seen hanging out with New York Time best-selling author, Y/N Y/L/N last week. Are you two friends?"
"Yeah," she beamed excitedly, or at least she hoped it'll appear like that. "She's amazing, she's such an interesting person. And I just really love her works."
"Aww, looks like Ms. Y/L/N has another fan," the interviewer said before raising his eyebrows at what the voice in his headphones just told him. "I actually think she might be somewhere in this building too right now."
Camila's eyes widened at that but she tried to act cool. "Wait, really?"
This wasn't part of the script. She didn't prepare for this. How is she even supposed to react? Hold up, they're not actually bringing her--
