Will found himself sitting on the bed watching Mike hold up an array of outfits for him to wear. "Mike, I've told you loads of times, I can just wear what I did yesterday," he raised his hand and shooed it around in the air. "But you look cute in my clothes," Mike spoke up, unfazed. He handed Will a blue shirt and khaki pants. "Those okay?" The brown-haired boy sat in shock, his best friend's words echoed through his brain. "Will?" Will looked up. He smiled and took the clothes. "These will be okay, thank you Mike," The taller one blushed, watching the other walk out and down the hall. Mike thought that he was perfect.
The shirt smelt of Mike, that was all that Will had cared about. He held it up to his nose, taking in the scent that reminded him of childhood. But, things were different... They were older, sleeping together with touching noses no longer felt like a funny joke between two friends... But a challenge. Who would make the first move? As children, people understood sleepovers between the two boys. They could cuddle up and still be seen as just best friends... But once puberty hit and the two became teenagers, people saw it unacceptable for them to do that. They were expected to reach the mature age where girls were going the main priority, But Will didn't want that... He wanted Mike.
The sound of 'Don't you want me,' rang through the house, followed by Mike's singing. The two used to sing together a lot when they were young. The kind of songs nobody else would listen too. That was what made them special, they were different and powerful... Sometimes the two felt as though they could stop anything, them against the world... "Don't you want me, baby!" He was dancing, doing a small side backwards and turning to face the doorway. "Oh hey Will," He wasn't embarrassed. He was slick and chill.
The two took to the streets of Hawkins. Off to their favourite place, a childhood classic, The Frozen Spoon. Will and Mike always used to eat there, before the Mall opened up. However, the mall wasn't open any more... so they were back to TFS. The bleak cold air of December numbed Will's fingers and toes, despite the warm gloves that covered his hands. "Ice cream on a cold day... It will never get old," Mike smirked, remembering the good old times when the two would sneak out to get that beautiful gelato.
"One banana and one..." Mike looked over to Will. "Hey what would you like?" He asked. Will smiled and quietly said, "A strawberry please." Mike handed Will his ice cream and Will thanked him. Both boys made their way to the local park, where they had always eaten their treat. "What a throwback huh," Mike said, munching on final but of his cone. "Ha, yeah... just like old times..." Will placed his tub in the bin at the side. He had never liked the cones, Mike picked on him for it but he didn't mind... Mike was allowed to pick on him for stupid things, Will gave only him the permission to do it.
"We should probably get you home, your cheeks are as red as hell!" Mike chuckled, pinching Will's cheek. "But you do look adorable," He added on. This caused many emotions in Will. Love, a sense of care... everything only Mike has been able to give him.
He blushed slightly, not that anybody could tell, and stood up. He reached out for Mike's hand whilst walking, to which the taller boy happily obliged to."Well, I'll see you soon..." Will looked up at Mike, slipping off the gloves and handing them over. "Yeah, see you soon, hopefully in my clothes again," He winked. "Oh yeah, I'll have them back to you!" He spoke out quickly. Mike replied with a small laugh. "Keep them, they look good on you." Will smiled before turning into his house where he faced... Eleven.
