Phillipa Soo was walking down the street to her apartment from the theater when she heard a noise. As she listened more closely, it sounded like a little girl crying, Determined to find the source, she followed it. It brought her to a dimly lit alleyway.
As the woman moved further into the alley, the crying got louder. Eventually, she found who it was. It was coming from this little girl, who looked no older than 10 years old. The little girl had tan skin and light brown hair. She was very skinny. Cuts and bruises were all over her arms and legs. Who would do this to a little girl? The woman thought to herself
With a gentle touch, Pippa tapped the little girl on the shoulder. The latter nearly jumped out of her skin, and flinched away from her hand.
"Sweetheart I'm not going to hurt you." Pippa said gently. "I promise." It was definitely getting colder. Where are this girl's parents?
The girl looked up at her shakily. She had beautiful icy blue eyes. The woman held out her hand for the girl to take, which she hesitantly complied to doing so after five minutes. Pippa pulled her gently off the ground and led her to her apartment.
When the duo arrived at the apartment, the younger girl looked so overwhelmed as she began to cry again. Pippa looked down at the poor thing and picked her up. The little girl stiffened as she continued to cry.
The woman held the child and gently shushed her, rubbing her back. Her heart broke for the girl. After a few minutes, the girl had calmed down. "I-I-I'm s-s-s-s-sorry..." She mumbled softly. This was the first time Pippa had heard her voice. It was so small and quiet, she could barely hear her.
"Sweetheart it's okay!" Pippa smiled. "It's been a long, emotional day for you, I'm sure. How about we get you into bed and we'll figure things out tomorrow?" The girl nodded, hugging her neck gently as the woman carried her to the couch and put her down.
"Here, I'll get you a sweatshirt to sleep in for tonight, okay?" Pippa spoke softly. The girl nodded as the woman retreated to her room to find a sweatshirt. She came back into the living room with a blue New York hoodie, but the girl was already fast asleep.
Pippa grabbed the softest blanket she had and covered the girl with it. The girl smiled subconsciously in her sleep as she felt the warmth around her. She snuggled deeply into it with a contented sigh.
The woman retreated to her room after checking one last time to make sure the girl was safe and sound on the couch fast asleep. She pulled out her phone and texted the Hamilton Group Chat.
Queen of the Cinnamon Rolls: Hey guys. I'm taking tomorrow and Thursday off. I have a bit of a situation.
Old Man Miranda: Okay. So you'll be able to do the 2 show day on Friday?
Queen of the Cinnamon Rolls: Yes. Just tell Lexi to be on for the next two days.
Second Eliza: No need to tell me. I already know.
Queen of the Cinnamon Rolls: Thanks, Lex. Good night guys.
Pippa turned her phone completely off after that and went to bed.
