General POV

Ellie tried to move as quietly as she could down the hallway of Lin and Pip's apartment. Tears were streaming down her face as she entered the kitchen. As the floor moaned loudly below her, the girl cringed, hoping no one but her had heard that.

As she went to the cabinet of many cups (yes I just typed that), her thoughts started to race. They all winded back to the incident. She wanted so much to forget that. Lin and Pip had forgiven her for the broken cup. No need to think about it now.

The girl opened the cabinet and got a plastic cup. She couldn't trust herself with a glass cup just yet. As she moved slowly towards the sink, the girl didn't notice Lin standing in the doorway. She quietly filled the cup with water and shut the sink off before seating herself down at the kitchen table.

Slowly bringing the cup to her lips, Ellie sipped the water, her thoughts were barely upon recognition. Everything was slightly blurry, but she noticed a presence sitting next to her She looked up to see the blurry version of Lin, but to her, he looked like her dad.

"Oh! Hi daddy!" She smiled sleepily, snuggling into his side. Lin was, in a way, shocked. But he decided to go with it.

"Hey sweetheart." He said softly, wrapping an arm around her. "What are you doing awake?"

"Huh?" She questioned, before taking another sip of her water. "Oh... Uh... I just had a bad dream. Nothing for you to worry about daddy..." She let out a yawn, rubbing her eyes. The girl glanced up at Lin, her dark brown eyes filled with childlike curiosity. Then a realization hit.

"Oh my flip, Lin! I'm so sorry." She said, shrugging off his hug. "I-I thought that you were... n-never mind..."

"Don't worry, kiddo. I don't mind." He said, pulling her closer. "I want to help."

"Well considering what has happened to me in the past few days is far beyond anyone's help right now..." The girl mumbled.

"What do you mean?" Lin asked curiously.

"Oh... I guess I haven't really told you or Pip what happened before you found me on that park bench..." Ellie sighed.

"You don't have to if you don't want to, Eleanor." Lin explained. "But if you need to let it out to help you get it out of your system, then I'm all ears."

"I guess I do want to get it out of my system..." The girl said slowly. "I guess I'll start from the beginning..."

After a few minutes of explaining her story, the girl was in tears. She was crying into Lin's shoulder. The man began to rub her back soothingly. Pippa had joined them at the table, putting a comforting hand on the girls upper back. She had heard the whole thing.

Ellie stopped crying after about five minutes and took another sip of water. Her dark eyes were visibly bloodshot. "T-thanks guys for comforting me..." She said, sniffling.

"Anytime, kiddo, anytime." Pippa whispered in the girls ear."C-can I have a hug?" The girl asked quietly. Two pairs of arms wrapped around her. Eleanor sighed as they let go after a few minutes.

"Well I'm gonna go back to bed." The girl yawned as she got up from her chair. She exited the room to climb back into bed.
