"Why?" She asked with tears falling in her face.
He felt nothing but pain and heartache as he stared at her face filled with pain and disbelief. But he needed to do this.
Once again, he ruined everything good in his life.
"Why do you always choose me last? Why do you have to spare others in the expense of hurting me? Why does it have to be me that you need to sacrifice?" She asked, her voice echoing in fatigue and pain.
She was tired, exhausted and hurt. Hurt that she never thought he would cause her.
He just stared at her, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.
"Answer me! Please, just once. Tell me, even for a moment, for a second. Did you ever love me?" She said grabbing his hand, tightly holding it.
Khalida stared at him looking for something, anything but she found none. She didn't think anything can be more painful.
Klaus was suddenly pulled from his thoughts when Elijah grabbed his shoulder.
The crowd went silent.
She was wearing a beautiful sparkling white night gown. The girl caught everyone's attention as she walked towards the ballroom.
It seems as if time stopped, every person dancing stopped and stared at her.
A pair of blue eyes widened at the sight of her, he couldn't believe it. After 20 years, he saw her again. She's really infront of him, alive.
Everything came rushing back to him. He suddenly felt like a dagger is stuck in his chest, he couldn't breathe, he remembered clearly what happened to her.
It was as if it happened yesterday but he also felt a twinge of hope maybe this is his second chance to make things right.
Maybe they can start again. No pain, no heartache, no psychotic sirelines and no more stopping them.
He didn't know whether to approach her when a song played.

He froze when he finally paid enough attention to actually hear the lyrics.
Then suddenly, their eyes locked. As if they're the only one in the world.
