"Im not ready." I told my best friend Shawn as we waited for second period to begin.
"Aww c'mon, Liam, PE isn't that bad." he rolled his eyes at me. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Ok ok it is pretty bad. But you can't be like this every A schedule. Whining won't stop it." he informed me.
"Yeah yeah I know" I sighed. The bell rang and I gulped before heading to the PE numbers. The teacher took role and dismissed us to go change. I stopped half way and mentally cursed when I realized that I forgot my clothes at home. I immediately turned around to wait for the rest. My teacher shook his head and pulled out his clip board to write me as a non-suit. Damnit. As if my grade couldn't get any worse. To make things worse I realized I was the only non-suit in my class. We all sat in our role numbers, the teacher, Hernandez, taking attendance.
"We have a new student." he announced after taking role. I didn't bother looking. I continued to sit with my legs crossed and looked at the ground, my hands brushing my hair out of my face.
"Taylor Smith." my head shot up. Taylor Smith?! He stood next to the teacher wearing black jeans, not too baggy or skinny, and a dark blue jacket, his clearly dyed black hair slightly covering his green eyes. God he was beautiful. Just like he has been since first grade. He moved schools in 5th grade but that didn't stop my feelings for him. I thought about him everyday of my life for 9 years.
We used to have a relationship in like first and second grade. He told me that he was in love with me in the back of the school field. It made me so happy to hear him say it. But then in third grade we spent less time together since we had a different class. We didn't hang out or hold hands at lunch anymore and I never knew the reason. After fourth grade I knew we were done. But still. I still loved him.
"Liam!" Hernandez called, Taylor standing next to him with a smirk across his face. I looked around realizing I was the only one sitting down.
"Yes coach?"
"We are doing the mile run today. Since your the only non-suit and Smith doesn't have his clothes yet, you two will have to sit aside. You'll get a 0." He said before walking away. "Why don't you show him around school." he added.
I turned to face him. He probably doesn't even remember me. I mentally sighed and cracked a light smile.
"Hey." is all I managed to say. Taylor smiled back.
"What you don't remember me?" he laughed. God even his laugh was sexy.
"W-Well of course I do.." I blushed looking down. I couldn't look into his eyes. He lifted my chin to force me to meet his eyes.
He let go and let out a small laugh. He then looked me up and down, making me feel self conscious. "You've grown up haven't you?" he smiled.
"So have you. Well I mean it's only been about 5 years." I mumbled.
"I guess it has." he chuckled. "Doesn't seem that long. I remember first grade like it was yesterday." he said with a grin, earning a blush from me. "I would do anything to go back." he said quietly.
Anything to go back? Does that mean he missed me? Out relationship? No, no he's probably not even gay, I mean that was in first grade we didn't even understand sexual orientation or anything. Oh god I hope he was gay.
"Liam?" he waved a hand in front of me. "You kinda spaced out on me." he said with a laugh.
"Oh did I? Sorry!" I said apologetically. He grinned and walked ahead towards the gate.
"Well? You gonna show me around?" he stopped at the gate turning around.
I ran to catch up. "Y-yeah." I said obviously flustered.
It's been 9 years since I've liked this guy, that's a record. I deserve a metal.
"So how've you been, Liam?" he asked curiously. I blushed at him using my name for the first time in like 7 years.
I stared at the ground, fidgeting my hands. "G-Good.." I stuttered. He smirked and nodded, his hands in his pocket. I watching him from the corner of my eyes. I started to think about memories from elementary. I remember always holding his hand and all the Stupid homophobes would laugh. This was before I met Shawn so nobody was there to stand up for us. I know that Taylor was extremely shy in first and second grade but then after we was more talkative and he became a trouble maker. The kind that teachers didn't like. Mmm yes a bad boy.
Taylor snapped a finger in front of my face. "Hey!" he smiled, amused. "Take a picture. It lasts longer." he grinned rolling his eyes.
I blushed and looked away. "S-Sorry.. I was just... thinking."
"Oh? About what?" He grinned.
"The past." I shrugged, shoving my hands in my pockets and continuing to walk. He stopped me and gently lifted my chin.
"I've missed you." he breathed down my neck. "Why didn't you ever say hi to me?"
I frowned. "Well you never said anything to me... I thought you weren't interested anymore."
His eyes widened and he laughed. "Here I was for years, in love with a boy, but tried to get over him because I thought he was the one not interested." he sighed dramatically.
"Really?!" I said in shock. He nodded still smiling. "Hey.. do you uh.. wanna hang out at lunch? Maybe..." I blushed.
He smiled lightly. "Sure. We could also hang out after school at my place. We could catch up on what we missed." he looked at me and smirked. "I also have a car so you could ride with me." he winked.
"Sounds good." I blushed trying to sound casual. I looked back down at my feet as we continued to walk around school in comfortable silence.
