"Shawn! Shawn! Shawn!!!"
"Holy shit dude!" He said as I ran into him. "What?!"
"Guess who's back?!" I said jumping excitingly.
"The Jonas brothers?!" He said as his face paled.
I gave him a look of discust, and shook my head. "Nah, they're practically dead. But Taylor Smith is back!!"
"Your old lover-friend guy?" He said his eyes widening.
I blushed a little. "Yeah. That guy." I said rubbing the back of my neck. "I showed him around school this morning, and he's sitting with us at lunch, AND we are gonna hang out after school!" I said the last part with a wink.
"Well it's lunch now. Shouldn't we find him?" I said with a friendly sigh. I eagerly nodded and we left to the cafeteria.
"Liam!"
I spun around to see Taylor behind me. I shyly smiled and gave a small wave.
"Hey Taylor." I said. We walked our way to our table, Shawn next to me, Taylor across, as we waited for my other best friend Jenna to come.
"Hey losers!" Jenna said cheerfully, slipping into the seat next to me.
"Well hello dearest best friend." I mumbled getting my lunch out and Taylor let out a laugh.
"Taylor?!" Jenna practically screamed. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I dunno, maybe for school?" Shawn shrugged. "Or maybe he's just here to deliver some cream to the lunch lady."
I elbowed him in the side and he scowled. "Well seems like nothing has changed." Taylor said rolling his eyes. "But yeah I transferred back today. I hope you guys don't mind me hanging out with you. I'm not really friends with the people from middle school anymore."
"Well actually-" Shawn was cut off with another elbow. "Ow! That hurt."
"Well yeah, that's what I was hoping." I grinned. My blush came back when I turned to Taylor. "We don't mind at all, Taylor!"
Taylor gave a friendly smile as thanks and we started eating, keeping up casual conversation about Supernatural, Jenna arguing that Destiel was practically canon.
School went by pretty fast, and before I knew it I was in Taylor's car.
"So how is your dad?" he asked breaking the silence, as he began to drive.
"He's good! Same as ever..." I said with a sigh, but then smiled. "What about your parents?"
Taylor frowned, but let a smile come back. "Well, while I was away, my parents kinda got divorced."
"Oh, I'm sorry!" I said, frowning.
"Nah it's ok. I never liked my dad anyways. He was an ass."
"Umm, to be honest I never really liked him either..." I said uncomfortably. "He would always look at you weird and he never smiled."
"Yeah. My mom found out he just married her for her money and he was also having multiple affairs."
"That's sucks. I'm sorry." I said turning to look at his face, which was frowning. When he noticed me looking he smiled.
Wait. For like 7 years, I thought Taylor wasn't interested in me anymore and I just found out that he thought the same. Does that mean he still likes me? With that thought my heart skipped a beat. Part of me knew he did, but I didn't want to just ask him out on his first day back to his hometown! Maybe we could just get closer and catch up on what we missed.
Taylor parked in his driveway and led me into his house.
"Mom, this is Liam. Remember him?" Taylor asked putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Oh yes! He was your first and only boyfriend. From like first grade though, right?" She said with a friendly smile. More like a grin.
I could see Taylor blush a little. "Uh.. yeah." be said.
"Well hello Liam! It's been so, so long! I'm sorry my son was such a pussy and never talked to you." she said with an honest apologetic smile.
"Yes it has been!" I smiled, ignoring that last part.
Taylor blushed more and grabbed my wrist, dragging me into his room upstairs. He sat on his bed and patted the spot next to him. I sat down and he sighed.
"Sorry about my mom. She's like that." he said, the little blush coming back. "So what do you want to do? We could watch a movie?" He asked and I nodded. He went digging for a movie in a box under his desk.
"Lion King or Titanic?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Well since I just moved back I don't have my Xbox or Netflix set up, so this is all I have." he shrugged.
I laughed. "That's ok. Let's watch Lion King." He nodded and put the movie in. I sat relaxed on his bed, my back against the wall. Taylor sat next to me, way closer than he needed to be.
As the movie started, I watched Taylor from the corner of my eye. His eyes were fixed on the movie, his messily combed black hair drooped over them. I found myself fully turning my head, watching him. When he noticed me watching him, again, he turned to face me and smirked.
"Liam I told you to take a picture. It lasts longer." He said, the smirk not going anywhere.
"Oh sorry!" I blurted, quickly turning my head towards the TV. Taylor dropped the smirk, but smiled. He fell to his side, his head on my lap. I jumped a little at his sudden movement, blushing.
He looked up at me. "What? I'm tired." he muttered turning to his side again and closing his eyes.
"It's barely even dark." I mumbled in embarrassment. He peeked back up.
"Spend the night." he said "I know it's my first day back, but I want to hang out with you." he whispered, pulling me down next to him. Before I realized it he was fast asleep. I slowly snuggled next to him and closed my eyes, realizing how early we were going to wake up.
