A/N Sorry folks, but I am a hormonal teenager. No, it's not more sex, but my emotions have gotten the better of me and this is a very dramatic chapter, lots of turmoil-filled relationships and such. So sorry for allowing my hormones to take over, but here it is.
It was late afternoon, by the ship’s time, when they woke up again. Advena seemed to have benefited from the snooze greatly, as she was practically bouncing with energy.
“You’re like a five-year-old in a candy shop,” Jake complained.
“You are like candy to me, because you’re so sweet,” Advena retorted. “Besides, I am five.” Jake scratched his head. It was easy to forget these things.
“Please don’t say that; you make me feel like a paedophile.”
“What do you mean?”
“Apart from the fact I have sex with a five-year-old on a regular basis? Oh, nothing.” Advena smirked at him. She traced her hand down his jaw line.
“Really? We can stop if you like.” Jake blushed and sipped a hand around her waist.
“Well that wouldn’t last five minutes, you’re just too addictive.” They were teasing each other now; it was a game they liked to call ‘who blushed the most?’ They were interrupted abruptly when they bumped into Jeica.
“Watch it numb nuts,” she snapped, then continued to stride down the corridor. Jake shook his head at her sadly.
“Something is definitely up with her...” Advena shrugged and trotted into the pilot’s cabin, where she would have a conversation with Alistair using the telepathic link he had worked hard to form. The embryo in his chest helped the process along, but didn’t guarantee its success; only those who were willing and knew what they were doing could establish a link. Failing at that, the host would have to wait until the embryo left their body to try again. Jake whistled to himself boredly as he searched for something to do. He eventually came across Mozart, and launched into a deep discussion with him. They blocked their thoughts off from everyone but themselves to make it mre private.
“Hello Jake, what can I do for you?” Mozart asked.
“Do you know what’s wrong with Jeica? She won’t talk to me about it.”
“She let down her guard and a... accident happened. She asked me not to talk about it and is having a hard time pretending it never happened.” Jake could sense a little hurt and worry in his voice.
“She seems really angry. Is it something I did? Even if indirectly?”
“No, this has nothing to do with you. She’s angry at herself, but is taking it out on other people...”
“Including you?”
“Especially me.”
“I’m sorry,” Jake offered his condolences, placing a hand on the Xenomorph’s shoulder. Jake paused for a bit and cocked his head. “Gotta run, Advena’s trying to talk to me. If you ever need someone to talk to...”
“Go,” Mozart waved him away with a fake smile. “I’ll go to you first if I ever do.” Jake nodded, feeling bad about leaving his friend, but decided he couldn’t do anything else for now. He quickly rushed back to where Advena was waiting for him.
“I hope you boys weren’t talking about naughty things,” Advena chided him as he rounded the corner. Jake laughed lightly.
“You know I’d never block you out because of that.” Jake stiffened slightly, realising that he had just revealed he had been blocking her out on purpose. She narrowed her eyes at him (metaphorically of course).
