It had been something to survive these past few days. Food was scarce and protect was even more.

Though with more people it made it better. Eventually after a few days of the group living on chips and hot water. They planned to move out of the school to search for family. Sadly what they mostly found was empty homes and some of their family were zombies.

When they found out about their family members they mourned but moved on in order to survive. Their families would want that. For Millie it had hit harder since she was so close to her family, but she still had her friends to look out for.

Adenn, Chloe, and Lana were on a run to get food for the group. Millie and Isabel stayed be protecting the group in case of the worst.

"I'm glad we made it out of that hellhole!" Chloe said cheerfully.

"Same, Target was a bust." Lana replied with at basket of some fruits and Fiji water.

"At least we got Fiji." Adenn said in whispered tone.

Adenn was always paranoid about the zombies hearing us and they did.

Their groaning could be heard from miles away. And they were close.

"We need to go now. I see about 4 of them." Lana whispered looking behind her.

"How about we kill them? Less zombies the better." Chloe suggested.

"Yeah, Lana we will need to kill them eventually."

Adenn and Chloe looked at each other and walked to the zombies. They shot at their legs then to stab their heads. Lana looks at them a snacks on a apple. Chloe stabs one. Suddenly one grabs at Adenn's ankle. Chloe runs to him and stabs the zombie's head. Lana runs over and throws her half eaten apple to see if he was okay.

"Are you okay Adenn!?" Gasped out Chloe. Lana looked at his ankle. It was fine.

"I'm okay, chill out. I didn't let the Gear get me." Adenn nervously laughed out.

Chloe looked at her and shakes her head signaling he didn't get bit.

Chloe suddenly hugged him happily. He stood still for a minute and then hugged her.

"Thank god, you are okay boob dude!" Chloe exclaimed and backed away.

Adenn was silent for a moment.

"Y'all need to get a room." Lana said walking away and the two followed along.

Then Lana added, "So what is Gear?"

"Instead of the usual zombie, in Irish, bitter means Gear." Adenn explained.

"That's smart, we should call them that." Chloe suggested.

They all agreed. Eventually they made it to the house they all lived at. It was a mansion, with four to five rooms, the owners left in a rush when the outbreak happened.

They were greeted with 4 guns to the face when they came back. Liberty from a far, being their sniper and Isabel, Millie, and Camera.

"Damn! Y'all gave me a heart attack!" Lana shouted while her hands were up.

Adenn stared at the gate.

Chloe rolled her eyes "Come on guys we got food! And water!"

They opened the gate, and Camera took the food in. They walked and Isabel closed the gate behind them.

"Y'all took forever. These rich people weren't good on food, we only had fucking crackers!" Millie ranted.

"I'm happy you three are still alive. But those fruits and water are better than stale crackers." Isabel added.

Lana looked at them and said "Adenn almost got bit, but Chloe saved him. I think they need some extra food."

Isabel and Millie looked shocked for a moment.

"I think they do." Millie replied. 

Isabel looked forward and nodded. Adenn and Chloe were the first inside and talked all the way to their room. Camera was walking back to her room with Vin. Millie looked at Isabel and Lana.

"What the hell happened out there?" Millie asked.

"There were Gear behind us and Adenn wanted to kill them so Chloe joined in to help and one grabbed his leg and Chloe stabbed it in the head before he got bit." Lana explained. Then she added "I told them to be careful."

Millie laughed "No, not that, like why are they talking to each other so much now?"

"Maybe they realized how short our lives can be so maybe they started to appreciate it and start talking more." Isabel spoke out.

"I guess so, I'm going to plan out the next trip outside. Cya." Lana said going to her room.

Abruptly something started banging on the main door.

Everyone ran out of the rooms to the front where the banging was coming from Isabel got her axe ready and Millie aimed her shot gun, then a boy started shouting,

"Let me in, damn it!"

Adenn ran to the door it seemed he knew who it was. He opened the door.
