VI: The Exile

           Andrew was dead. On the other hand Lana, Olivin lost her ring in the Lab and Olivin shot Andrew in the head. Lucky shot.

        Olivin ran to Lana and helped her up "Oh my god, I thought was going to lose you Lana!" Then hugged her.

"Wait is that Andrew?!?" Olivin covered her mouth.

Lana responded "He is gone now, when he attacked me he was her pale and like weird black spots on him. He wasn't Andrew or not anymore."

    A few hours after Lana's close encounter with death she wanted to burn Andrew's body as a memorial for him. A survivor's death, in a way.

Lana looks around to see everyone passed out, and grabs a candle then a knife. Olivin followed along.

Lana walked to this secret room on the left wing that no one had the key to.

Lana "People aren't infected with a virus that kills them. It never killed them. Thanks to Andrew I know why."

Olivin looked at her like she was crazy, which might be true. As soon as Lana said that the door opened up. An awful smell covered the room. The room had hasn't been opened in years. I was full of books of research. Black goop covered it all. The stuff that covered was in Andrew.

Lana pointed to a bright containers with brains with more black goop with it or no goop at all. "I didn't know what this was on Andrew but there was a key in the lab. He was there he was just hungry. For food"

Olivin stared "what?"

Lana explained, "This black slime is like a part of our body, like a cancer. It's not an infection really, it's makes you so hungry all the time for meat. And revives your brain from almost dying. That's why they attack us. Andrew was still there but he was so hungry he seen me as a bag of beef. They used this mansion as a experimental place for this disease. And used it against us and let it out for a war strategy, I think. I've been thinking about this for days it feels like.... They said it was safe to be around it but if you eat it you, you obviously get infected."

Olivin was surprised how did Lana find this out so quickly? Who knows. Lana walks back out and locks the door after Olivin is done looking in the room.

Olivin frowns "I hope you are okay, Andrew was a good guy and it sucks we had to find it out this way."

Lana pauses, "Know he would have wanted us to find out how everyone got it. Besides I knew when I seen his there was no way we could ever help him."

Millie stumbled into the hallway with a beer bottle. She was walking into her room. Murmur to herself. Olivin followed Millie to make sure she went to bed safely.

It had been a few days. Lana was getting pale and skinnier for some reason. She was sleeping way to often and wasn't going on runs. She as always didn't talk about it.

Lana layed on the messy bed with a smile, she done her makeup. She was trying to not look like she had died. She knew what happened to herself. I was honestly a count down at this point. Someone knocked on the door. It was Xander.

"Hey." Xander awkwardly stood.

"Heya." Lana respond not even looking at him.

He stood there for 2 mins waiting for her to say something. Nothing. Silence.

He speaks up to say,"The group wants to know if you are okay. They voted me to go."

Lana finally looks at him "I would be lying if I said I was fine."

"I'm infected with this thing, my body is tearing apart at every moment and I hate it." Lana bursted out crying.

Xander backs away slowly. And runs out the room.

2 hours later the group has a meeting about what to do with Lana.

"Maybe we should kill her."

"We should put her in the pod."

"She should be handcuffed then killed."

Lana walks out of the room with a black splotchy face and a blanket rapped around her body. They all stare at her blankly. Olivin starts crying, Brandon holds Olivin close. Ash hugs Lana and begs her to tell that she is joking. Chloe walks away. Millie sits and cries. Adenn and Xander just have a sad look on their faces and some tears. Vin and Camera walk away. Liberty sits and stares.

"Olivin, in was dead the second he looked at me. He got me because I ate the goop while he was attacking me" Lana said quiet voice.

All Ash could do was stare at Lana, he couldn't believe he was going to lose a best friend of 11 years. They met in first grade and they talk about a cuss word and were friends.  For life it could've been.
Millie met Lana in 3rd grade on the swing set and was jealous of Lana stealing Ash away from her. Chloe met Lana in 5th grade by them dating the same guy. Boob dude and Lana met in 7th grade, he looked like he had boobs and always stole her Fiji water so they always made jokes about it. 

She met the rest through other means but the point was she had fun and always was living it. Even if it was sad or happy.

Lana smiled at them and said "We all know this is how it has to be, I'm happy to die with you guys."

She hugs Ash, Chloe, Millie, Boob dude, Olivin, and Xander.

Suddenly loud shouting and banging is at the front gate like a lot of people. Xanders eyes open wide.

"It's them they came to get me." Xander whispers.

Vin and Camera are nowhere to be found.

Lana says quietly "You guys get out of here, I'll stay and see what I can do to divert them to me."

Ash disagreed with that plan but everyone else was good with it.

"I don't want to do this Lana." Ash said.

"It's what's best Ash Ketchup!" Lana giggled

Ash, Chloe, Millie, and Lana group hugged one last time to say good bye.

Lana said "I love you three, stay outta trouble."

Boob dude smiled at Lana and she smiled too.

Xander waved bye and Lana winked.

Everyone got the things they needed and ran out the back quickly. Vin and Camera's body's were found by Lana in the front they held hands. 

Lana looked up and seen Kellen and other people with outfits and fancy guns standing there, rage filled Kellen as she lifted Lana up by the neck and choking her to death.

Lana was dead on the ground. In a few minutes they would have a surprise for them. From Lana herself.
