Namjoon assumed he was going to be tense the entire time he and Seokjin sat together. How could he not? Seokjin was still a weird sort of addition to Namjoon's life that Namjoon hoped would leave sooner than later. But after a bit, Seokjin never moved from Namjoon's side. In fact, the other got closer if anything. Nuzzling his warm body against Namjoon's, the now empty bowl on the ground as Seokjin gets closer. Despite being utterly confused with how affectionate the other was being, Namjoon's body relaxed a bit. He allowed Seokjin to nuzzle into him (not too much because lord knows Namjoon would end up having a growing problem) and allowed the other to rest.
Eventually, Seokjin started to doze off and fall asleep. As much as Namjoon enjoyed seeing the others calm look as they started to fall asleep, he knew he wanted to have some sort of privacy. For an array of reasons. There was only one problem. Namjoon doesn't just have extra space in his home. He didn't want Seokjin to sleep down here in the case that someone (perhaps another alien) waltz's into his home and sees Seokjin on his couch. But at the same time, he keeps a lot of valuables in his room, so he wouldn't want to leave Seokjin alone up there either.
But when Seokjin's hand falls dangerously close to his upper inner thigh, Namjoon decides that allowing the alien in his room wouldn't be that bad. Namjoon clears his throat and nudges at Seokjin, who lets out a small noise that is borderline a moan. Namjoon prays to whatever gods that possibly exist as Seokjin leans up a bit and rubs his eyes, letting out a sigh.
"Namjoon?" Seokjin asks, and Namjoon ignores the fact of how good the other sounds saying his name in such a whiny voice. Namjoon looks to Seokjin and smiles quickly before motioning up his stairs.
"You're tired. I'll let you sleep in my bed tonight." He says, standing and picking the bowl off of the ground. Looking over to Seokjin, he sees an exciting glint in his eyes.
"Really? Will you be there with me, Namjoon?" He asks, optimism lacing his voice in several different ways. It almost pained Namjoon to shake his head, but he couldn't sleep in the same bed as this alien.
"No, I won't be in the same bed as you. I need my privacy, just like you aliens probably need-"
"Don't call me that." Seokjin's voice was stern. A stark difference from the light and airy tone he used earlier. It sent a shiver down Namjoon's spine and he swallowed harshly.
"What?"
"Alien. Don't... don't use that word to describe me." He says, his voice falling from a stern to slightly more begging. Like he was asking instead of commanding like earlier.
Namjoon could understand why the other didn't like the term "alien". It never was a nice word to begin with. Humans use the word to describe someone who didn't belong amongst them. Whether Seokjin knew that or not was something Namjoon didn't know but would respect regardless. Sure, Seokjin really didn't have the right to command what Namjoon could or couldn't do, say, or couldn't say, but Namjoon didn't want to upset the other.
"Right. I'm sorry. I didn't realize the effect that could possibly have on you." He says, flustered over the fact that he wasn't thinking rationally. Seokjin's gaze softens and he smiles, now standing in front of Namjoon. The other stretches for a moment and lets out a small noise of relief before they look at Namjoon expectantly. Namjoon just stares back blankly.
"Well?"
"Well what?"
"Are you going to show me your resting quarters?" Seokjin's words finally make their way through Namjoon's skull and he shakes his head to snap himself out of it. He was so tired, he wanted to fall asleep too. But he didn't want to do that when there was an extraterrestrial creature in his home that could turn on him any second. Some may call Namjoon overly paranoid, but he just considers it to be an extra precaution.
