Chapter 3: Training

The day was warm, as usual, and Jade Relise woke up from a rather pleasant slumber. She had a dream that she had fully mastered her powers and that she could finally bring Brian up to live with her! And along with that, they gave him powers almost just like hers! And even though he couldn't do everything that the mixed hair people could do, he would be just like the purples. 

Jade got changed into a nice dress, it was the same as her other one, but it was a different copy of it. Then, the royal hand-maidens came and did her hair along with the crown that they put on her head. Finally, it was time to go outside to train.

When they got to the training area, the kind woman who's name was Judea, said that she would be Jade's trainer. "Your first lesson will be flying," she said. "Alright, here we go. So the first thing that you must do is think about flying. Think of your body lifting off of the ground and into the atmosphere. Then, lightly start stretching onto your toes. Finally, lightly, but firmly, jump off of the ground." That was a lot to take in, thought Jade. But she tried anyway. "Most people don't get it on their first try," Judea said kindly. Jade could tell that Judea doubted that she could fly on her first try. So, Jade stretched out onto the tips of her toes, closed her eyes, and lifted off the ground. "I'm doing it!" Jade cried in excitement. Even Judea was amazed at how well she could fly. Jade then lifted up and smiled and laughed with joy. After, she flew all around the city and felt so much joy because she was one step closer to her dream, and, flying was fun.

Despite the fact that she got flying right away, her other powers were no easy task. Like, Jade could levitate something for tops: five minutes. But, that was chicken scratch compared to blasting things with her purple fire. It was one of the hardest things to do, but up here, they waste no time in teaching, they hard, and right away. No hesitation. Not at all. So, Judea said: "In order to blast things, you must speak with an extremely strong memory. Like you are right there, happy or angry memories work the best. Jade knew exactly what memory that was; the memory where everyone laughed and scoffed at Brian like he was dirt. She thought of that memory and let the anger bottle up inside of her until it was to the brim. Then, with all of the love in her heart for Brian, she let it out. All of her anger was going straight to her hands and out with the purple-black fire coming out of her hands. She wasn't paying any attention to anything else in the world until she heard a voice inside of her head, it was Judea calling her with her mind power. She was saying: "Jade, come back, you did great, but you need to calm down and stop your fire." Jade fell out of her trance and felt actually great about it. And she could now hear Judea's thoughts: She was thinking: That girl is one of the most powerful things we have ever had. And she will be a great ruler. That made her feel great that she heard that from Judea and that she can read minds now. Now, everything was turning out pretty well. Jade Relise felt great! Like nothing in the world can stop her.
