Chapter 4

Camila POV:
Daniel leads me back to is car and starts driving to his house. I don't know why but I feel safe with him even though I know I shouldn't. Is Grace's dream coming true? No it can't be, I won't let it.

Daniel: You're arguing with yourself again. What's wrong?
Camila: What makes you think something's wrong?
Daniel: Cami, you haven't been yourself since senior year started. You're still your angelic self but you've never been this uptight before
Camila: Maybe I'm scared okay
Daniel: You don't have to be scared of me. You know that right?
Camila: I know, it's just, I'm scared of what will happen if I keep staying around you
Daniel: The guys have been saying this for a while and as much as I try to deny it, I know they're right.
Camila: And what would that be
Daniel: I have a soft spot for you Cami. Something about you just makes me want to stay around you. I guess telling me to protect you and based off of what just happened I think that it's right
Camila: You think that something's telling you to protect me?
Daniel: It may sound crazy but it's like there's this other realm and every time I'm around you the feeling always pulls me closer to you.

He's talking about the witches. Mom, mom's trying to tell him something.

Camila: Has this other realm ever told you anything else?
Daniel: Yeah. It told me to protect the angel at all costs

Mom and Dad called me angel before they left. That's why he's been calling me his angel.

Camila: Is that why you're calling me your angel? Because this realm is pulling you toward me?
Daniel: Yes and it may seem crazy but I hesitated sending you with Candi just in case Corbyn came to you but I didn't listen and well you know what happened.
Camila: Yeah. Do you get deja vu a lot? Like a lot
Daniel: Doesn't everyone?
Camila: Yeah but do you actually remember the dream you had that night? And then later you can tell when it's happening?
Daniel: Yes actually. Does it happen to you?
Camila: No but it does happen to Grace
Daniel: Do you know why?
Camila: Nope

I can't tell him about us. But why would mom speak to him through the realm? What is she trying to protect me from? Sending the "devil in disguise" to keep a watch on her angel. This doesn't make any since.

Daniel: You okay Cami?
Camila: What? Oh yeah I'm fine
Daniel: You sure? You've been thinking pretty hard. Does he have to do with something telling me to take care of the angel?
Camila: Kind of. Daniel if I tell you something will you promise to keep it between us?
Daniel: Yeah of course
Camila: I'm being serious Dani. Candi and Zach cannot know and your other friends can't know either
Daniel: You have my word. Anything you tell me is safe with me.
Camila: Okay. You mentioned a realm, and a- a voice telling you to watch over the angel?
Daniel: That's right
Camila: Well my mother used to call me angel well both of my parents
Daniel: Cami you don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable
Camila: No I am

How have I never seen this sweet side to him? He really believes in the realm.

Camila: Dani there is another realm and I don't know why they would be getting someone to protect me but I guess they are and I guess that explains why you're so protective of me
Daniel: Why wouldn't I be protective of you?
Camila: Cause you're the "devil in disguise" you don't care about anyone
Daniel: Devil in disguise? *smirks* What makes you call me that
Camila: Don't act like you don't know why
Daniel: *chuckles* Alright you got me, but what makes you think that I don't care about anyone?
Camila: I don't know you just don't seem like you do
Daniel: Ouch
Camila: Besides give me one example of someone you care about
Daniel: You
Camila: Wait what!?
Daniel: I care about you

He leans close to me and looks deep into my eyes.

Daniel: We're here *smirks*
Camila: You really just did that?
Daniel: Is the angel falling for the devil? *winks*
Camila: No
Daniel: You sure?
Camila: No I'm not sure
Daniel: Come on Cami let's go inside

I get out of the car and walk toward the door.

Camila: What about your-
Daniel: I live alone. Come on angel
Camila: Okay.......
Daniel: You okay Cami?
Camila: Yeah I'm fine, well fine for being forced to drink
Daniel: I'm sorry I didn't stay with you
Camila: It's okay
Daniel: You sure?
Camila: Yes I'm sure, you wanted to make sure you got rid of Corbyn and Vanessa, and that's what you did
Daniel: Yeah but at what price? He could've forced you to drink even more if we wouldn't have found him
Camila: Are you saying I can't take care of myself?
Daniel: What!? No of course not. I just- I wanted to protect you. I feel that strong force around you and I know you're the angel they want me to protect
Camila: *under breath* mom
Daniel: What?
Camila: My mother was very protective of me and before they left-
Daniel: Hey you know you don't have to tell me
Camila: I want to Dani.
Daniel: Then go ahead
Camila: Before my parents left my father had a dream that they were going to be burned at the stake and my mother left us here for a normal life and wiped everyone of the memory that magic exists, except for those bearing magic of their own. Daniel?
Daniel: Yes?
Camila: Who are your parents?
Daniel: That doesn't matter but I know about what you're saying. Did your parents change your names by any chance?
Camila: Yes, yes they did
Daniel: Cami I need to show you something
Camila: What is it?

He walks over to a bookshelf and pulls out a book that looks extremely old.

Camila: Daniel is this?
Daniel: The one book your parents told you to find? Yes, yes it is
Camila: Daniel. Are you psychic?
Daniel: Are you a witch?
Camila: I asked you first
Daniel: How else would I know that you're the angel I was being told to protect?
Camila: You are. But that means...
Daniel: What is it Cami?
Camila: Grace has my dad's genes. If you're both psychic that means that our parents must've known each other somehow.
Daniel: And I've been looking into it ever since I first felt the pull. Cami, our parents lead back to two different powerful families
Camila: I have to go

I start to run for the door when I feel Daniel grab my hand.

Daniel: The book says that the two families have to unite at some point. It hasn't been connected yet.
Camila: Daniel I need to go home
Daniel: I'm not going to stop you but please, stay safe. At least let me drive you back home
Camila: I have to make sure they haven't let Grace dream
Daniel: Then let's go find out

We run out to his car and drive off. I really hope they're all okay. If Grace has had a dream since I left she could be freaking out right now. I must've been visibly shaken because I feel Daniel place his hand over mine.

Daniel: Calm down okay
