Chapter 7 ⚠️

Camila POV:
Candi: Cami, Daniel will be fine. He's dealt with Corbyn since 5th grade
Camila: I know, it's just- Corbyn knows how to fight. He's been boxing since he was in kindergarten
Zach: Cami, look at me, I know you, we both do, Daniel will be okay. I know you're worried but Daniel knows what he's doing
Camila: He's putting himself in danger for me I can't let him do this

I run back into the hallway to find Daniel and Corbyn. I see Daniel on the ground with blood running from his nose. I look around to see Corbyn is no where to be found. I run up to Daniel to check on him.

Camila: Daniel are you okay!??
Daniel: Cami you need to go to class. I'm fine
Camila: Daniel you got yourself beat up for me. I'm not leaving you here
Daniel: Hey I put up a good fight
Camila: Daniel what were you thinking?! Corbyn has been boxing since kindergarten. You had no chance
Daniel: When I'm fighting for you I don't care what happens when it's Corbyn
Camila: That was so cheesy but I don't care. I love you anyway
Daniel: You love me?
Camila: Of course I do Daniel. You just fought for me, against Corbyn
Daniel: I love you too Cami Rose. Now can you please go to class? I don't want you to be late
Camila: You sure Dani?
Daniel: Go on. I'll be okay

I walk back to class to see Candi and Zach looking at me worried.

Candi: Cami you okay?
Camila: I'm fine. I found Daniel in the hallway with a bloody nose
Candi: Oh my god is he okay!?!
Camila: Yeah and-

I feel a presence on my back and I take a deep breath in "Corbyn" I thought.

Corbyn: I'm gonna stop you there sweetheart. So how's Dani boy?
Camila: Pretty sure you would know

I continue to stay turned toward Candi and Zach. I can't look at Corbyn right now.

Corbyn: Oh yeah that's right, I do and he lost to me, so that means that you're mine now
Camila: Daniel would never bet me like that
Corbyn: You sure about that? He is the "devil in disguise" remember

I turn around sharply looking Corbyn right in the eyes. He looks shocked that I turned around.

Camila: I know for a fact that Daniel would not do that to me, and don't you try to tell me otherwise. Daniel is not the devil in disguise Corbyn that's all you
Corbyn: Wow someone finally snapped
Camila: I recommend you go sit down. Class is starting
Corbyn: Fine but just so you know, I don't lose
Camila: I think you just did

He turned back around pulling my face close to his. He was about to speak when the teacher interrupted him.

Teacher: CORBYN LEAVE CAMILA ALONE AND GO SIT DOWN

Corbyn walks away angry and I sit down next to Candi with Zach behind us.

Jack's POV:
Jonah and I are sitting in class when we realize that Daniel is late. I look at Jonah and he looks confused as well.

Jack: Thinking what I'm thinking?
Jonah: Yeah. Let's check the lockers first

We run out of class with the teacher yelling in our ears but we don't pay attention. We get to Daniel's locker to find him on the ground with a bloody nose.

Jack: What the-
Daniel: Don't finish that sentence
Jonah: Dude what happened
Daniel: Corbyn happened
Jack: I swear when I get to him it won't be pretty
Jonah: Jack he's a lot taller than you
Jack: Yeah...you're right
Daniel: Just get me to class
Jack: Well we're already late so you wanna ditch?
Daniel: I'd say yes except I'm taking Camila and her sisters back home after school
Jonah: Ooh someone's going soft again
Daniel: Get off my back would ya
Jonah: Nah I'm good
Daniel: Let's just go

Camila POV:
I notice Corbyn constantly looking over at me and it's making me furious. He knows I can't stand him yet he keeps doing this. Candi snaps her fingers in front of my face grabbing my attention.

Candi: Earth to Cami. What's wrong
Camila: Corbyn won't stop staring at me
Candi: And he's not going to stop. You've got to ignore him for now. Anyway I was trying to ask you if you wanted to go check on the girls after school today
Camila: Candi I saw them this morning
Candi: For like 30 minutes, am I wrong
Camila: No you're not
Candi: Exactly. Is Daniel driving you home?
Camila: Yeah. Why?
Candi: I'll meet you at your house once school is over
Camila: Alright
*Bell Rings*
Candi: Well let's go to our lockers and maybe Daniel will be okay

We walk to our lockers and Daniel is standing there waiting for me. I smile as soon as I see him and he smiles back. He's cleaned up since I saw him.

Camila: Hey Dani
Daniel: Camila Rosetta, how are you after first period. Did Corbyn bug you?
Camila: You know he did

I saw Daniel's jaw clench and I grabbed his hand to calm him down. I opened my locker and grabbed all of the books I need for the next three classes. I looked at him deep in his eyes and I saw them soften slightly.

Camila: I'm okay Dani
Daniel: Better be, or else Corbyn's going to be in a lot of trouble
Corbyn: Am I now?

Daniel's jaw clenched again and he turned around sharply. He walked toward Corbyn and I tried to stop him but he wouldn't let me.

Daniel: You step anywhere near her again and you'll regret it
Corbyn: I doubt that. I beat you once, I can do it again
Daniel: Stay away from her
Corbyn: Or else what?

Corbyn snaps his fingers and two guys come around the corner grabbing Daniel by each side. I try to reach out to him but I'm quickly pulled back by Candi. Soon another couple of guys grab Candi and Zach and I'm defenseless against Corbyn. The guys turn Daniel around facing me and I know that if I move it won't be good for me or Daniel. Corbyn walks closer to me wrapping an arm around my waist and I cringe at his touch. Daniel starts balling up his fists and I can tell he's about to explode. Corbyn laughs knowing he's gotten everyone's attention. He then backs me up against my locker and places a hand on either side of my head.
