Fairy Tail and it's characters belong to Hiro Mashima. This is only my version of what would have happened if Lucy took Laxus' offer on becoming his woman. Dragon Slayers have mates in this. The dragon slayer's who have a close connection with their dragon side or know it's there can train to become connected with them. Laxus and Gajeel don't know about this till later.

Lucy weakly opened her eyes. She then fully opened them once she saw Laxus. Her eyes widening in fear.
The sight in front of her was so terrifying that it could have brought the strongest wizards to their knees.
Freed was battling Black Steel Gajeel. Actually no. You couldn't call it a fight. The truth of the matter is that Freed was using the iron dragon slayer as his personal punching bag. Sending attack after attack at him, without giving him even a second to find his footing.
But no. That wasn't the truly terrifying sight. The sight that would bring the best of the best wizards to their knees was Laxus Dreyer. The blond was completely surrounded by lighting, caciling all around him.
Lucy had heard the rumors about his strength, who hadn't? But seeing it now, live and in person. Lucy truly realized why this man was feared by so many. Why he was called the Lighting God.
Lucy was snapped out of her thoughts by Jose letting go of her hair and tossing her to the side. Causing a deep thunder-like growl to erupt from Laxus' chest.
But Jose was either deaf or really stupid, because he competly ignored the huge 'DON'T BE AN IDIOT AND MESS WITH THE DRAGON'S MATE!' sign. "Well well well. If it isn't Makarov's grandson. Why are you here?"
