//Her car currently, with the top down//
"Jug, my dear, loving, currently favorite best friend, would you care to explain to me why our carrot top isn't in this car with us right now?" My voice, a mix if teasing and annoyed, fills the silence as my best friend enters the car. "Um, maybe because you're the only Northsider with the balls to show up, in this car, on the Southside." He plays innocent, turning up the radio after tossing his bag into the back. "First off, if that was an insult to my baby, I will kick you out of this car and go spend the fourth of July, on my own. She's beautiful and you know it. Secondly, as your statement may be true, it's not what I meant and you know it. Arch was getting picked up last because you don't want anyone else knowing about your dad and you living on the Southside and blah blah blah. What I'm talking about, is why rooster texted me telling me not to pick him up." I look at him, giving him a look that lets him know I'm not moving the car until he gives me an answer. "Archie ditched us, okay? That's all there is to it. Hell, he didn't give me an explanation." He leans back in his chair. "Well that makes sense, cause you are the more emotional one out of the three of us and tend to overreact." I smile when his jaw drops a bit, he playfully punches me in the shoulder. "Excuse you? You might wanna rethink that one, you literally punched some girl in the face because she made fun of your jacket." A shit eating grin crosses Jugs face as he brings up the memory. I place my hand over my heart in mock emotional pain. "I'm hurt Jughead Jones, truly." Our little moment is interrupted by the yells of some random jolly green giant. "Yo, what's some Northsider doing on our turf?" He says, Jug rolls his eyes annoyed, not saying anything back, I on the other hand, stare the boy down. Taking note of his messy black hair, the serpent tattoo on his neck, and the dog tags around his neck. "I'm picking up my best friend, you got a problem with that?" I challenge, a girl with pink hair behind him tries to stop him from walking over, Jug had checked out of the conversation, sinking in his seat. "Sweetpea don't." Pinky tells the taller boy. "Yea String Bean, dont. I'm really not in the mood deal with a Corn Snake who thinks he's a Cobra today, okay?" A shorter boy that's behind String Bean and Pinky holds back a laugh, while amusement crosses Pinkys face and annoyance crosses String Beans face. "Listen here mutt. Stay out of our damn turf, we don't want you mangy bulldogs bringing around your damn fleas." That causes a small laugh to escape me, causing his annoyed expression to drop to a confused one for a spilt second. "Bold of you to assume I'm from Riverdale high String Bean. Besides, if that's really the only comeback you can come up with, then you should probably let Pinky over there handle those, she seems like she'd be good at witty comebacks," I pause, sending a wink her way before continuing. "Now, if you'll excuse me Corn Snake, I have a weekend out of Riverdale to attend to." I look in my rear view mirror, fixing my red stained lips, before putting the car in drive. "Toodles!" I smile, waving at them and driving off, turning my radio up, 'We built this City' blaring in the speakers. "You are something else, you know that Ember Elwood?" Jug laughs as the wind whips though our hair. "If I wasn't something else, I'd be the same as everyone else in this little town, and who wants that?" He shrugs as if to say 'fair enough' and looks at the road ahead of us. This is gonna be one hell of a weekend.A/N:
