When morning broke, the early morning rays of sunlight woke Ayano up. With a light groan she sat up, slowly waking up to process what had happened the previous day and what the world was going through. Her eyes were all cried out and Ayano accepted that she had no time to mourn but to avenge her siblings by surviving and killing those monsters. For her siblings, she would live.

Just as she was about to stand up, her feet collided with something on the floor, causing her to flinch before she noticed the familiar head of black hair next to her foot. She jumped softly landing in front of him and took note of his soft sleeping face before shaking his shoulder to wake him from his uncomfortable position.

"mm... oh Ayano..?? You're awake how are you doing? Are you tsk ow.." He hissed lightly and massaged his neck which was now cramped due to his awkward sleep.

"I'll be alright. I have to live for them and the lives they couldn't live so.. it's not much to dwell on. You know, you didn't have to sleep on the floor. You could've just slept on the bed if the floor was uncomfortable, i wouldn't have minded." Mark immediately became flustered and his face burned a bright pink.

"A-ah i really couldn't! T-thats your space..." He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck, half in embarrassment and the other half to soothe the pain. Ayano didn't really get why he was so flustered but didn't try to understand in her half asleep state before shrugging and holding her hand out to help him up.

"Thank you for staying the night, Minhyung, i really appreciate it." Ayano stated, grunting lightly as she helped him up. He nodded.

"It's really no big deal, I can't let you go through something like that alone." The room went silent before mark looked as if a lightbulb flickered in his head.

"Happy birthday, Ayano. I know this isn't how you planned to spend it, but i hope you enjoy it for what it turns out to be." Mark pat her head and she smiled lightly.

"Thanks, Mark. I couldn't ask for more than to spend it with those i care about most. Mina and Mika are here in spirit i can feel it so i'm already happier. Don't worry." She smiled more and mark returned the smile. 

"Okay, well, we should meet the others downstairs. From what i can tell with the boarded up window in here, they boarded up the house last night. I have no idea how we slept through that." Mark chuckled as Ayano nodded. They exited the room and went downstairs to see the rest of the group in the dining room.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AYANO!!!" The group rushed toward the girl, surrounding her in a group hug filled with giggles and asking about her well being.

"Thank you, guys! I'm okay, i swear. You are all i have now so i will make sure that doesn't happen to any of you." She said, her smile caused the others to return it.

Most of the day was spent playing board games, discussing future plans and eating cookies. Around 1pm, Donghyuck made his way to ayano with kina and jaemin behind him.

"Ayano? There's one more thing we haven't shown you yet. Personally, we don't know eachother too well but i can see the impact you've made on my friends and i want to thank you for everything. I hope we become closer as time goes on. Happy birthday, Ayano." He smiled, stepping aside for the 2 behind him to show her the medium sized canvas painted to convey the beach in all of its glory with the shadows of the group seated on the grass facing the waves with ayano in the center. Ayano nearly teared up with the presentation.

"You guys... thank you so much. This is amazing! I'm going to hang it in the room i stay in. I'll also take a photo of it for my wallpaper." She hugged everyone and was about to take a picture of the painting before Jaemin spoke.

"Wait, instead of that, why dont we all take a group photo for all of us? We can set them as our wallpapers so if we ever separate, we are never really alone?" With that, light cheers were heard as they set up a phone on the counter and the group huddled together in frame, posing happily.

With giggles and laughs, the group took many photos and sent them to eachother to set as matching wallpapers. The moment was pure bliss. A moment that couldn't be broken, or so we thought.

A loud band was heard outside and the group quickly made their way to surround chenle who was checking security cams on his phone.

"One of those things is on the front lawn and just broke the basketball hoop on the lawn. Everyone grab a weapon and go upstairs. Don't make any noise." Chenle spoke quickly and quietly, glancing at the screen to see the blight walking around slowly  trying to find any sign of life.

The group made their way upstairs and collected into the room that overlooked the front lawn. There was only one of those things. It looked like a human however, its jaw was missing as well as one of its legs was completely twisted the other direction. The house was so silent, they could hear the cracks of bones the thing made with each slow step it took. Blood dripped from its upper jaw and from other multiple injuries that littered its body. It looked like your average zombie.

"Hey, chenle, how did it get in?" Jisung asked, making sure his voice was at its lowest level and succeeding.

"I reviewed the tapes and it seems to have broken one of the east fences last night. However, as i watched, the thing seemed to have an increase in strength and agitation. It looked like it broke the metal fence with brute force and was just roaming the yard through the night, slowly calming down with how silent it was." Chenle spoke, his voice also extremely quiet.

"Do you think it isn't as dangerous in the day?" Kina asked, her voice barely a whisper.

"We won't know until someone provokes it." Chenle said making everyone freeze.

"For now, the best we can do, without anyone potentially dying in the process, is wait it out to see if it leaves." Jeno said.

"We could, however, we just increase the chance of it making its way inside the house without provoking it, as it did just that to the fence. Plus, we have to fix the fence otherwise we are just allowing for others to enter." Chenle answered, his academic language surfacing with the situation.

"I'll go. I have taken countless self defense classes as well as played tennis to i would like to say my arms, back and stamina are top notch at the moment. If i manage to get scratched, cut off the limb. If its too late, kill me. Don't you dare hesitate, you got that?" Ayano spoke quietly, standing up and removing her jacket to grab 2 rags from the bed of that room and tying her arms. She had on black jeans, running shoes, a sports bra and a white tank top only making her look badass at the moment.

She grabbed her axe and began to make her way out of the room. 

"I'll man the door for her. I need at least 2 other people down stairs just in case things go south." Jeno spoke to which Jaemin and Mark stood up immediately. 

"Alright, lets go." Ayano spoke quietly before the 4 people began their journey down the steps to challenge their first blight.
