It was only around 9PM but Caroline was still sleeping deeply, after all she was exhausted. Tomorrow she had to help her mom to prepare for the dinner they are going to have at the boarding house. She continued to sleep until she hard something, it sounded like a knock. She felt annoyed, who would come and knock at a door this late? She stayed in her bed with her eyes closed, she could feel herself falling asleep once again. But then she heard it again, the knocking. She could hear how her mom walked to the door and opened it.

Liz wondered, who would come visit them this late? She made her way towards the door and took a deep breath, then she opened it. When she saw who was standing there, her eyes just widened. "Klaus.." She whispered quietly so she wouldn't wake Caroline up. She stepped to the side so he could walk inside. "Liz." Klaus said and flashed her a polite smile, he extended his hand for her. Liz shook his hand gently and shrugged. "She's sleeping." She said and looked at him. Klaus listened to her and nodded. "May I go to her room?" He asked and followed Liz into the living room. He couldn't help but notice that Liz almost looked scared when he was around. Liz didn't answer him, she just nodded at him.
Klaus thanked her and walked to Caroline's room. He walked inside and saw her sleeping on the bed. She looked so beautiful, he thought to himself. A smile formed on the edge of his lips.
Caroline had fallen asleep again, so she didn't notice when Klaus entered her room. It wasn't until he sat down on the bed she could feel something, or someone. She slowly opened her eyes, she could see a shadow of a man. The man was smiling at her.
"Hey there, love." Klaus said, he placed his hand on her back and ran his hand up and down on it. Then Caroline realized who it was, she would recognize that accent everywhere. "Klaus!" She said, almost yelling. Her eyes snapped opening and she sat up, almost hanging onto him. Klaus emitted a soft laugh, he wrapped his arms around Caroline's waist and held her close in his embrace.
"I'm sorry I'm late." He whispered, he leaned his forehead against Caroline's and closed his eyes, Caroline did the same. She grabbed the hair on his neck and brought herself closer to him, inhaling his scent. "It's okay, you're here now.." She whispered, she felt so happy. The man that she was in love with was finally here, now everything was perfect.

They laid on the bed again, looking at each other. No words came out from them. They just enjoyed that they finally were together. Klaus ran his fingers Caroline's blonde hair. From time to time, Caroline looked up at him. She looked at him with a loving smile. His touch made her feel calm, it relaxed her. After a while she closed her eyes again. Klaus leaned his lips closer to her forehead and kissed it softy. "Good night, love." He whispered, he wrapped the cover around her bodies. "Good night, Klaus." Caroline mumbled tiredly, then she drifted away to sleep. After a few minutes Klaus also fell asleep, with the love of his life in his arms.
