Haikyuu teams play Truth or Dare

Chapter 4

Nishinoya POV

" Truth or dare Asahi?" Daichi asks. I look over at Asahi and smile. We've always been close but after what happened last year I had a bit of a hard time trusting him at first. Now that I know he's permanently out of that phase I feel better trusting him again.

" T-Truth." He answers shakily.

I wish he'd have more confidence in himself. He's amazing!

But he doesn't believe it and it hurts knowing I can't do anything to raise his confidence. He deserves so much more than what he gives himself credit for.

" Give us hints about your crush."

He has a crush...?

" You have a crush?" I ask. " Y-yeah..." he says.

He likes someone...someone who's not me... why does this hurt so bad? I always knew he'd never return my feelings. I've tried making it obvious but I guess it didn't work...

" He uh plays a sport, he's shorter than me, uh-"
" That could be many people Asahi, try to be more specific." Suga says. He could just turn it down, saying that's not part of the truth, but hes too shy to do that.

At least now I'll know who it is. Maybe I can figure out what he likes about them and apply it to myself.

" H-he's shorter than average, has brown eyes, um a g-good body, not exactly that smart..." he rubs the back of his head.

" Hm, what year?" I ask, knowing he won't turn me down.

" s-s-s-s-s-second year." He stutters.

They're in my grade?! How?! He knows other second years other than the ones on the team? Too bad Tanaka has family stuff tonight or else he could help.

Who could it be?

I rack my brain for people to fit his description but I never pay much attention to my classmates. I'm friends with pretty much everyone because I like talking to people but I don't know everyone's activities and features perfectly yet.

" I know who it is." Suga smirks and I resist the urge to make him tell me who.

" Who?!" Daichi reads my mind. " I'll tell you later Darling." He kisses Daichi's cheek.

I wish Asahi and I could be like that...

Whoever it is, is lucky. Asahi is so kind and loyal...I hope they treat him right, I hope they understand him. I hope they know what to do when he gets super shy or how to cheer him up when his anxiety takes over. I know how to do all of it and he still overlooked me. I guess I'm just not good enough for him...

" Truth or dare Noya?" I jump at my name being called.

" Truth!" I exclaim, beaming at him.

" Give us a hint about your crush. Well, if you have one." He asks awkwardly.

How am I supposed to describe him without everyone figuring it out?! Especially Tsukishima, he's smart and definitely won't hesitate to out me if he figures it out.

" Um I do. It's also a he, brown eyes as well, he also plays a sport, he's pretty smart though and shy."

" Oh my god." Suga deadpans. " What?" I ask. " You two are so dumb. So dumb." He shakes his head.
" How am I dumb?" Asahi asks. " Allow me to explain." He stands up, cupping his hands around his mouth.

" YOU TWO LIKE EACH OTHER!" He sits back down, leaving me in shock.

Asahi? Liking me? There's no way...wait...brown eyes. Check. Plays a sport. Check. Shorter than average. Check. Second year. Check. Not exactly smart. Check.
