When my alarm start budging at it's loudest, my sleepy eyes run to had a check of time. 10:00 o'clock.O God! It's been a long time and I am still sleepy. I just tried to get up but I felt an orchestra playing inside my head. Without having an option, I lay down back on my bed.
No, it's not a hangover, nor I spent my night partying with my friends.
Although I have party bloopers as my companion but I rather prefer to be buried under the pile of my books.
Suddenly my doorbell start screaming. My mother ran to welcome the guest, standing at the door.
I somehow dragged myself out of my room. But as my eyes fell on the guest, who has just arrived, I tried to run back to room, but her sharp eyes caught me. Pammi aunty.
My mom's dearest friend and walking information center. She has information about each and every person who lived in this society.
"Oye hoye Naina! Ki haal chaal"
(Naina! How are you?), pammi aunty asked me."Changa aunty ji"
(I am good aunty), I answered with a smile. She smiled back and then start gossiping with my mother.
"O ji! Tussi vekhoge na toh tussi vi flat ho jasoge. Inna Sona Munda hai"
(You should see him. He's so handsome), she seems to be totally flattered.I wonder according to her, all her male relatives are the most handsome guy. So which one this time, she was talking about.
"Excuse me! Hi", then only I heard a voice.
"Ummm.... Namastye! Main Sameer. Aapka Naya padosi", the guy greeted both ladies respectfully.
My heart start pumping faster as I heard the voice. It sounds familiar.
Still hiding behind refrigerator door and pretending like I am looking for something to eat, I bend down a little to have a peek. But I lost my balance and fall over the floor.
While rubbing my head when I looked up, both ladies were standing at my both side. And the guy just standing above my head and leaning over me.
O God! It's him. Yes. He was the one. My doubt wasn't irrelevant. I recognized his voice.
I just got up at once and embarrassingly start fidgeting my fingers.
"Are you all right?", He asked softly.
His sexy voice just boozed up in my ears. But like an idiot, the only thing I could do is shook my head.
"Hi! Main Sameer hun.", He forwarded his hand, while introducing himself.
"Naina. Namaste.", I rather folded my hand and say 'namaste'. Really Naina.
"Wo. Humari Naina bahut sharmili hai.", my mother proudly named my ridiculously embarrassing behaviour as an ethic.
Damn this guys know, exactly how shy I am.
Sameer cocked his eyebrows and then there was a playful smirk on his face.
I immediately run toward my room, left everyone shocked."Sharmili hai", Sameer reminded my mother, her own words.
Both ladies just grinned.
After everyone left my mother made an appearance in my room.
She slowly slipped inside my covering sheath and reserved a place just next to me. With that infamous extra sweet smile.
I suspected there is something really fishy.
"Ladka achha hai na", she started the conversation.
"Kaun?", I asked while rolling my pen on my fingers.
"Arre wahi. Apna Naya padosi. Sameer", my mother smiled brighter.
Oh I know. Where this conversation leading to.
"Kitna sanskari hai. Dikhta bhi achha hai."
"Pummy bata rahi thi, khudka business bhi sambhalta hai."
"Settled hai.""Aur Marwadi bhi hai", my mother chirruped.
"Mummy wo maheshwari hai aur hum Agarwal. Toh match fixing Ka khyal Apne dimag se Nikal do.", I pouted my lips.
"Ajkal yeh sab kaun dekhta hai", I widened my eyes on my mother's statement.
"Kal Tu Kisi Panjabi ya Madrasi ko pakad laaye, usse toh marwadi ladka achha hai na", she clarified.
"Aur ajkal toh ladkiyan wo ladkiyon ke Saath nhi toh waise Hoti hai", my mother stated hesitantly.
"Waise kaise?", I arched my eyebrow.
"Arre waise waise", my mother shook her head."Achha lesbian", I replied with a smirk.
Oh God! My poor mother.
I know pummy aunty has filled my mother's mind with these kind of stuff.
"Ram ram. Chheee.", She sweared.
"Aisi baatein mat Kar", she warned me.
"Mummy aap usse aaj hi mile ho.", I reminded her."Mujhe abhi Shaadi nhi Karni . Mujhe padhna hai.", While holding her hand I tried to calm her down.
" Yeh bhi toh ho Sakta hai. Uski life mein pehle se hi koi ho.", I couldn't resist the sadness which filled up in my voice.
"Par", my mother wasn't ready to have up.
"Par war Kuch nhi. Ab aap jao. Mujhe padhna hai.", This was the final call and my mother dropped her weapons and left my room.
After she left, I took a deep breath.
How could I tell her, that I don't have any chance with this guy.Despite, how badly I wanted to be with him.
We were connected with a night, a night of emotions, passion, pleasure and rejection.
I closed my eyes and the rememberance of that night flooded back from my mind, where deep inside, once I burried those memories.
