Sometimes, the sky looked like it was being sucked into a nonexistent hole in the air. If you stared at it long enough, it was like something was pulling the blue away to somewhere. But where?

Miku kept her gaze on that patch of sky she could see through the trees, wondering how nice it must be to frolic above and beyond.

She shut her eyes and breathed in the fresh air. Her hands folded delicately over her stomach moved to her sides so she could rub her fingers into the grass. Her legs bent and she flexed her toes against the earth, able to feel bits of the grass through her socks. She had only been at K-12 Academy for two weeks and was already craving the comforting embrace of the earth.

"Hey, what are you up to over here?"

Miku opened her eyes. Rin stood bent above her, blocking out the sun.

"Planning my death," the tealette said.

"Well, the bell's gonna ring in about two hours, and we've got a long walk ahead of us,"

Miku sighed deeply, not wanting to leave her peaceful place. But she obeyed, putting her shoes back on and grabbing her books before getting up and joining Rin on the dirt path leading to the school.

"So how exactly do you expect to die?" the blonde asked.

"In a vegetable garden," Miku's answer was quick, "somewhere close to a river. I wanna be buried by some leeks, tomatoes, eggplants, carrots... and when I decay I'll be their fertilizer,"

"You know if you ever need to talk, I'm here to listen,"

Miku made that look at Rin—I know I sound morbid, if something was actually wrong I would've told you by now. The girls just smiled and laughed.

"Hey, so what was that at lunch yesterday?" Rin asked.

   "What?"

"When Neru literally threw your food on the floor and then dumped that jello down your dress?"

"Oh, that," Miku rolled her eyes. "All I did was give Kaito my ice cream sandwich because I didn't want it. That was it! And Neru flipped her shit!"

"Oh my fucking god. I hate that plastic bitch, when is she gonna realize that her 'romance' with Kaito is all in her head and she has no right to treat you like that?"

"She's rich, she thinks she can do whatever she wants."

   Rin frowned.

"I don't give a fuck. That girl needs some sense knocked into her. Like with a heavy rock. Or a road roller, either one,"

   "Mhmm,"

Miku didn't like Neru, no lie there. But even so, she didn't wanna actually see her get hurt. Miku knew all to well what pain was like, in many different forms. She didn't wish pain upon anyone else. Not even on someone as wretched as Neru Akita.

That didn't mean she wasn't willing to get some form of revenge.

When she found Kaito, it was about forty minutes before their first class started. The boy was sitting on a couch in one of the unused music rooms with his nose in a book. He was all alone.

Miku shut the door behind her when she came in, quiet enough for no one close by to hear but loud enough for Kaito to meet her gaze.

   "Oh, hey,"

  "Hi,"

Kaito set his book aside when Miku came to sit by him. He wasn't exactly a boy Miku could see herself falling in love with, for they were far too alike. Kaito was overall emotionless like her—only able to mimic the people around him kinda like a chameleon. If they were a couple, there definitely wouldn't be a lot of conversation.
