Daku stared down at the ground with a look that was mingled with anxiety and discomfort. "Aw, you're no fun, Reiji."
"Knock it off you guys! Yours truly saw him first. Yours Truly is going to be his first everything."
He feels bad, it seems...
"Lame. I'm so sick of calling yourself Yours Truly." Ayato stood up from his seat out of anger. "Screw you! I know that's you, Subaru. Show yourself." "Over here. I thought it smelled like human in here. So it was you. How dare you interrupt my precious sleep?"
Daku glanced up as Yui look towards the new male. "H... How did you get in?"
"My question first," The male swung his fist into the wall, which made Yui flinch and gasp under her breath. Daku gazed at the hand he used to punch the wall before looking away with a frown and hiding his hands in his shirt sleeves.
Reiji pushed up his glasses, getting everyone's attention again.
"Has anyone been told anything about these two who have come here to live with us?" The red-haired vampire slunk back down in his chair as Yui glanced at her older adoptive brother. She narrowed her eyes but before she could look away just as fast, Daku caught her venomous stare.
She scrambled to her feet, trying to come up with a different plan instantly. "Excuse me! I think this is some kind of misunderstanding, so I'll be on my way!" Daku stared at her plainly, recalling something Seiji had mentioned to him.
"There are exactly six residents, all related in some way, but don't let that intimidate you. They are all different and you have met them before you met me, so I think you will be just fine, my boy."
The ravenette was glad to have his own space again. He watched her just barely get past the tall glasses-wearing male when he stopped her. "Just a moment. I am attempting to verify the truth of the matter. Wouldn't it be rather impolite to leave now?"
"B.. But..." "Are you the woman he mentioned?" "Shu, do you know something about this girl?"
"Maybe." Yui looked behind her to find where the newer voice came from. It was another boy. That made six of them here. Daku relaxed at that. So they are in the right place after all... "Don't 'maybe' me. I would like an explanation," Kanato voiced.
The male on the other side of the room, on the couch, was silent for a second before he spoke up again. "That guy... Contacted me the other day. He said, "We have a guest arriving from the church, so treat her with respect."
Ayato glanced at Yui before he turned to stare at Daku. "What? Are you telling me Pancake here is the prospective bride?" It looked like Kanato slightly relaxed as well everyone did. "Oh, is that all?" "Mmm, more like a sacrifice more than a bride."
The blonde-haired male opened his eyes this time, speaking once more. "Oh, right. And he also mentioned not to kill her, and that the boy is here under more serious circumstances... You can read the rest of the letter if you want."
"Really? That means we're going to have a verrrry long relationship with her." Reiji then turned to the girl, who stood there dumbfounded. "It appears that is no misunderstanding, so allow us to introduce ourselves. Reiji pointed a finger towards the blonde male. "This is the eldest son, Shu. I am the second son, Reiji."
He then pointed to Ayato. "This is third, Ayato." Ayato was smirking at her when she glanced at the red-haired male. "You won't get away next time." Reiji pointed to every male he introduced as Daku glanced at the floor. Something suddenly decided to nag at him.
"But this has to be a mistake. No one told me anything about brides. And... And besides, you're all... Kind of weird." Daku wiped his eyes as he let out a yawn. There was a nagging feeling now and it was quickly becoming annoying.
Was it a headache? A strange stomach ache? Fatigue? What was it? His insomnia even? Did that decide to come to haunt him earlier than usual? He heard a click of Yui's cellphone open and looked towards Ayato, but he felt so off in such a quick time.
What he heard as talking was soon drowned out. His eyes started to feel as heavy as his body. There was an aching feeling somewhere on his head, but it was gone when his head hit the couch cushion. No one noticed at first, because when the ravenette fell unconscious no one was beside him.
It wasn't until Reiji sat down that he noticed that Daku had fallen into a deep state of slumber. "Daku will be fine here for now. Do not bother him." Yui glared at the unknowingly comatose boy as Reiji stood back up from the seat and knelt in front of him.
He hesitated, staying silent.
"One of you get the doctor. Quickly. This isn't a normal slumber, this is a comatose state. Hurry!"
