Yui. Yui Komori...
She was the first one to target him. He detested the sight of her. The girl that was so naive that it was unbelievable. It was infuriating with how foolish she could let herself be. He could tell that Ayato had been draining her a lot lately. He could tell because she had lost her appetite.
Daku thought it was funny that she dared to give him the stink eye. She didn't like the only type of attention she was getting, but what else did she expect from a house inhabited by vampires? At least she wasn't him sometimes. They were two of them now, which meant easier access and everything.
But he didn't let that get to him. He always kept a scarf on anyway, which bothered any brother that did suck his blood. It sucked putting on bandages again, so he had stopped a while ago and just kept his scarf on constantly.
He also tuned out the conversation between Laito, eating in between Subaru and Shu. He hadn't had anything strange transpire to him so, he was enjoying the quiet life at the Sakamaki home. It's nice to find new books in the library he sneaks off to and cook when no one's around.
Whether if they did or didn't know, he didn't pay too much mind to it. His talent for making food sprouted from his constant hunger for something, so he decided to start cooking whenever he had time away from studying and doing homework.
He had completely tuned out Laito teasing or taunting Yui. She wasn't very curvy or chubby, but he didn't have to be up in her business like that... There were some days where he would lose a bit of his appetite too. Only when you did tune back in was when he heard Reiji talk bad about his eldest brother.
Well, there were sure to have their stories and pasts, so maybe, it was best not to say anything about it... "That will be all for today." But Daku was so caught up in eating that he didn't realize Ayato had pushed the remains of his food towards him.
The boy was just eating and eating, not stopping for anything, given that he was even taking his time to eat. "Well, I'm glad someone is eating the food I put my tone into making." Yui looked around, only to see the triplets and Reiji watch Daku eat so eagerly. She glared at him, but he didn't seem to feel the stink eye she was giving him.
Even so, Reiji walked over to him and put his hand on the top of his head.
"Daku, you shouldn't eat so much. You'll get a stomach ache."
The ravenette was snapped out of his swirling thoughts and he looked up at the glasses-wearing vampire with stuffed cheeks and made a muffled sound. He grabbed a napkin and wiped the younger 18-year-old's mouth.
"Now, come. You need a bath." The grey-eyed boy nodded his head and swallowed his food, getting to his feet and waiting beside him. "Laito, take him to one of the bathrooms."
Everyone started to leave the room, but Reiji stayed behind, waiting until Yui started getting to her feet.
...
Daku stared at himself in the mirror and then slowly raised his hands to stare down at them. He had shown the brothers he could miraculously use his hands again.
No one showed it on their faces, well maybe, except Ayato and Laito, but through the most enthusiastic voices they could make, they told him it was probably a supernatural curse being lifted or something of the sort and that they were happy for him even if he was mortal.
It seems that he was close with them all because, in their own way, they gave him a knowing look at the time.
He felt so much better using his hands. He smiled to himself before setting up the bath and his new pair of clothes. It felt so good to use his hands again. He can at least write down wants he wants to say now. He can draw, write, hold things again! It was so exciting.
It was hard to read in the beginning, but now he can just reach for a book and he can easily grab it now. He can eat more easily now as well. Speaking of which... Reiji was such an amazing cook. He felt like he had eaten food Reiji had made before though...
He couldn't place when, but the food tasted so familiar. He's eaten so much food, but the only time he tasted anything like that was when he was younger... Much, much younger.
"Maybe it's memories I have that I just can't remember... Reiji did say I was close with him and the others... How interesting..."
He suddenly heard a small gasp erupt from behind him and blushed, covering his torso and turning around. It was Yui. "W-What the hell, Yui! Don't you know how to knock?" Yui stars at him, completely awestruck. It seemed that he didn't realize he was shouting. Like, full-on yelling at her.
He was able to speak now, too?
'Were both his disabilities some type of supernatural curses? This is impossible! How... How can this be? So many doctors have said he was never going to be able to speak again! So, just how is any of this possible?'
Daku glared at her, still not realizing that he was yelling, much less talking, and hugged himself. "Can you please leave now? Reiji won't be happy if I'm not clean."
