Shuichi's p.o.v
Good news: Kokichi's awake. Bad news: Kokichi had propped himself up with his elbows when he was struggling to say my name. That's not good, if he keeps moving around his wounds will split open and I'll have to reapply new bandages. Not that I mind(Gives me a chance to see him half-naked), but I'm pretty sure it'll hurt . And I don't want to hurt him.
Yet.
I reached behind him and readjusted his pillows and gently laid Kokichi on the propped pillows. I grabbed a blanket next to me and placed it over him There now he's comfortable...sorta. It's still better than before. He looks more comfortable and doesn't seem to be in much pain. He's been out for a few hours ever since his little 'encounter' with Kaede. More like Kaedead now, lol.
I looked down at Kokichi and looked at all the bandages on his body and face. That fucking bitch. If it were possible, I'd kill her twice. Maybe I should've kept her alive and tied her down in a remote area. I'd have so much fun and have so many things to experiment on her. Waterboarding, making her watch as I kill her family and loved ones(if she had any) in front of her, maybe I would've-
"Shuichi" Kokichi's soft voice snapped me out of my daydreaming. His face was contorted in confusion and in slight pain. I panicked and looked around at his bandages. None of them were pooling with blood, that's good. So if it isn't his wounds, he's probably confused about what's going on. He did get his head slammed on the ground after all.
"Yeah?" His face was blank and his eyes were staring directly into mine. I stared back. Not gonna lie, his blank face was starting to bother me after a few seconds. And like my hopes and dreams, his blank mask crumbled in a matter of seconds and he started to cry.
Tears dribbled down his face and dripped onto the blanket he was swaddled with. His eyes and cheeks were becoming red from the crying. Seeing him cry, I wasn't really sure how to react. When I usually see other people cry, I just roll my eyes. But for some goddamn reason I felt compelled to comfort him. I pulled him into my arms without thinking. His wounds were probably gonna open up, but at the moment I just wanted to hold him. Kokichi's cries were muffled when he buried his head into my chest.
I ran my fingers through his hair. His hair had been caked with dried blood and it had taken a few wet towels to get it all out. Kokichi's cries quieted slowly and soon he was just hiccuping and sniffling. He moved his head away from my chest and looked up at me. His face was flushed red and his eyes were still welling up with tears.
"Sh...Shuichi...what...ha...happened to m..me?" His voice sounded small and his body had started to tremble. I get why he'd be confused, waking up with a bunch of unknown wounds isn't something that's considered normal. It almost made me want to tell him the truth. Almost.
"Oh, You mean how you got the wounds?" Kokichi kept quiet but nodded his head in agreement. "Well, you were cornered and attacked" Being blunt was the easiest way to convince him. Especially if I don't include all the details. Kokichi was staring at me in shock. Using his shock was also part of the reason why I decided to be blunt, made him less aware of what I was saying.
"I happen to see what was happening and pulled the person off you, but I was a little too late. You had passed out and had lots of injuries. So I took you back to our dorm, cleaned you up, and applied bandages and medicine to the more severe wounds. For the bruises, I put a few ice packs so they wouldn't get worse." Kokichi was nodding his head but it was obvious he was still processing the fact that he was attacked.
Kokichi's P.o.v
I was Attacked, Shuichi saved me.... but who did it... WHo attacked me? Why did they attack me? Shuichi knows, he saw what happened and he probably saw the attacker.
"H...Hey Shuichi..."Shuichi turned his head and stared at me. "Yeah?" What if he doesn't know? I should still ask. "Do..Do...you know w..who att..attacked me?" Shuichi continued to stare at me... but it felt different, it felt...uneasy.
"No, the attacker was probably a random person trying to mug you" Well it made sense... I don't think anyone I've met before would just randomly attack me. "oh" It made sense, logically, but it didn't seem right . What if shuichi lied? A small voice in the back of my head asked. But if he did lie, why would he? He's the one who saw it all and he wouldn't benefit from it all. It wouldn't make sense.
When I thought about it like that, it helped reassure me. But that small doubting voice remained in the back of my head and I couldn't help but wonder if I should listen to it or not.
