Chapter I: Have a Heart or a Drink
Khoda White was really going to kill someone, which is ironic because he was actually making his way towards a murder scene right now. He just got promoted, unwillingly might he add, as detective and he already has a case. A murder case to make it worse.
Murders in Boardvill were like Unicorns, they only apper in books. It was a pretty small town where everyone knew what went on and who kissed who in school, so the fact that there were people swooning his crime scene pissed him off. He managed to calm himself down, reminding him that people are just curious. This was, after all, the very first murder in...ugh he was too tierd to figure out the date. Plus he needed coffee. Like right now.
When he flashed his badge to Officer Walker and moved to the crime scene he was immediately greeted with a safferon cup of seemingly strong smelling coffee. He glanced at the holder and grinned lightly.
"Marry me Cheryll!" He exclaims grabbing the cup and taking a huge sip, not even caring it was hot. The brunett grinned. "I believe I did when we became partners Detective White." His partner and best friend joked.
He groaned at that titel. The only reason why he became Deective was becuse ex Detective Amiliea Richards wanted to explore the outer world out of Boardvill. He remembered how he became a law officer in the first place. Not a comforting thought.
"Please don't, it's too early for all tht titels, how's the crime scene looking?" He asked, gesturing towards the group of perimedics who seemed to probing the poor corps.
"Pretty gruseom actually, Vince says that whatever did had no sense of heart, I mean...even I was a bit phased." Cheryll Williams admitted. Khoda looked at her surprised whilst he slipped on his latex gloves. Cheryll was probably the most level headed person he ever met. She is the kind that loves horror and gothic stuff. So the fact that this body even phased her a little should ring bells in Khodas head.
Though Khoda hated bells in the morning so he ignored it.
"Hey, Detective, I have a right to know what is going on here, I am after all the owner!" A voice said. Khoda glanced at the old man that seemed to be frowning.
"Yeah, not something I whould be proud off." Khoda snarked. This was one of the things he hated of his job. The people, annoying, nosy people. He ignored the furious glare the old man gave him and watched as Cheryll left to take care of it. Throwing his empty coffee cup in the nearest dumpster, he manuvared his way to his destination.
"How's it looking Doc?" Khoda asked once he arrived to the body. Dr Vincent Greggor was the towns physician. And a good friend of Khoda. Close to being a father figure. In fact he helped bring Khoda into the world. Not in that way, mind off the gutter please, Vince was the doctor that helped his mother when she was in labour.
After his dad died and mum...well nevermind, the point is ever since then Vince was like his Godfather and confidant. The only person he could trust.
"Certainly not a case I would want on my first day Detective." His father figure replied. And in respect of that he resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Instead of replying he croutches down taking a look at the body.
It was a women with sunkissed blond hair, seemingly about 30 something, definitely not from here because he was pretty sure that he has never come across her. Khoda had to admit that even in death she beautiful. Which he shouldn't be thinking about...when was the last time he went on a date? Was he actally admiring a women that wasn't even half his age...he really needs to on a date, but who?
Now is not the time Khoda. He reminded himself. He hated having ADHD. It was so frustrating when his mind wondered off.
Focus he told himself.
