When you have to take precautions to make sure no one sees how you feel about yourself is pretty strange. Smiling at a mirror every morning for 15 minutes before finally leaving for school is pretty stupid. When you have to smile through all of the mean comments (intentionally biting at his little self-confidence or not) is pretty weird.
Well, they aren't to Denki Kaminari. That is what he does every single day.
"No one understands you Denki, no one cares about a worthless, stupid and pathetic loser like you. Your friends don't care. They pretend, every time you're with them. They're only pretending to love you Denki, they only pretend-"
He tried to block it out, he whacked his head, he tugged at his hair but nothing silenced the voice in the back of his head. Nothing kept it's harsh comments at bay, not even writing, which he used to be extremely passionate about. He used to put his heart and soul into his poems and stories but when wrestling with the dark corners of his mind, his page stays as white as fresh snow. Deep down, the blonde boy said to himself that he would never stop the remarks from coming, his very little flame of hope was dying out and he knew that.
He knew that tears were cascading from his yellow eyes and down his pale face, but he didn't know about the knocking outside. When he realised someone was at his dorm door, he ferociously wiped away his tears and the ringing in his ears died down.
"Smile Denki!" it said in a mockingly cheerful tone.
It was Sero. "Woah, are you okay bro? No offence but you look like a zombie right now!"
"Smile Denki!" There came the voice again.
"Oh, I'm fine!"
