Y/N was in the middle of editing her new story – it so happened to be a fantasy one. Playing Zelda with Hoseok really struck something within her and inspired her main character to be like Link. She would've initially thought that going around looking like an elf was stupid but playing the video game made her feel like she herself was Link and it happened to catch her interest really fast.
Hoseok had bought her a Nintendo Switch and the latest Legend of Zelda game (she had no idea what the cost was but she had secretly put 1 million won in his wallet to pay him back) and playing the game squeezed into her everyday routine. It was refreshing, to say the least, and she saw it as a way of de stressing.
She heard the doorbell being rung and just shouted a 'come in!' since she already knew who it was judging from how hard they pressed they doorbell. The little jingle sounded, and Hoseok opened the door with hurry. He sprinted straight to where Y/N sat on the couch and pointed at her accusingly –
"YOU ARE THE ONE WHO PUT 1 MILLION WON IN MY WALLET WEREN'T YOU?!"
"Nope."
"Wait . . . what? Really?"
"Mhm, I have no idea what you are talking about."
Hoseok scratched his head in wonder. "Who do you think it is then?" he asked in wonder.
"I don't know. But they probably put it there for a reason." Yup, Hoseok was always going to remain Hoseok.
"OK, well . . . um, I have some news." Hoseok wanted to smile so badly but he covered it up with a nonchalant smirk, and honestly he was so bad at it that Y/N could literally see his lips twitch.
"What is it?" she asked with a small smile on her face, but Hoseok just shrugged and sat next to her with that failure of a smirk still on his face. "Oh god, you're doing it again."
"Doing what?"
"The thing."
"What thing?"
Y/N just rolled her eyes. She looked at him with the most judgmental expression and said: "oh Hoseok please tell me what it is, please please please. I'm dying to know!"
"Oh my god fiinnneeee! Jeez, you're so nosy," Hoseok smirked and Y/N rolled her eyes a second time. "I got accepted into BigHit Entertainment!"
"Wait, really?" Y/N asked in surprise.
"Yup! I am now a trainee."
"That's awesome!" Y/N hugged Hoseok and he hugged her back, so tightly that she thought he was trying to merge them together. After the hug, Hoseok kissed her on the cheek, and nothing could hide the heavy blush that painted her cheeks.
"So, you done writing your story sweetheart?"
"Yup," Y/N made the last change before turning to look at him. "All done."
The following week was going to be the announcement and Hoseok already knew that Y/N was getting the first prize. He told her that relentlessly during the week, almost to the point that she wanted to tape his lips together. Not to toot her own horn but, she was quite sure that she had a 90% chance that she was going to win first place. She had won all the competitions before that one.
So it took them both by surprise when this time she made her way into the second place. During the week Hoseok had read her story and he wanted to be present in the award ceremony because he wanted to see 'his sweetheart go up there and get the gold medal! Woohoo!'
But Y/N didn't get the gold medal – instead she got a silver one. But when she went up on stage to claim the medal, the crow-like screams of Hoseok sounding from the crowd was all she could here and she smiled blindly, not because of her medal but because of Hoseok cheering for her.
Once the ceremony was over, Hoseok had congratulated her multiple times, before grumping out and complaining that she was supposed to have the gold medal on your neck and not the dude with the weird glasses.
"Like honestly, I'm pretty sure his story was not as good as yours. I mean seriously, they probably don't know how to judge –"
And Hoseok ranted on and on. Previously, the fact that she won second place would have really pissed her off. But now, it seemed OK. It seemed OK to not be the best, and it seemed OK to not be perfect. She guessed it was because she wasn't used to writing fantasy, but she was still proud of herself. A silver medal didn't sound that bad.
" . . . yes, that's probably it. I think there is favouritism going on and –"
"Hey!" you interrupted Hoseok and smiled a smile that identical to his. "Let's go and play Zelda OK?"

Back in her house, Y/N couldn't feel more comfortable, cuddled up in Hoseok's arms and blanket wrapping them together. Life turned out to be normal again, she had realized. She was happy, and that's all she wanted. She had changed, but she liked it. She liked that she didn't find it necessary to put on a mask and hide all her emotions behind it, well she didn't have a choice because Hoseok had broken the mask. And she was thankful that he did.
A small nudge against her shoulder made her look at her boyfriend, and he passed her a controller.
"You start first sweetheart," he said, pointing to the TV screen.
She smiled at the nickname that she grew fond of – "OK Hobi!"
