Trip To A Summer Romance.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4:

            The sun was beginning to set, and I could smell the spicy, tangy barbeques happening around the neighborhood when we began our walk home. We all walked as a group back to Thomas' and Evan's house, it felt so great to be walking with all the people I love.

            We arrive back home to smell terriayki salmon, burgers, and ribs in the kitchen just awaiting our arrival. We all changed or took a quick shower before rushing down the stairs like savages. The growing teenage boys took the first of everything. And then Kimmy, Nick, Sophie, and I all helped ourselves. The boys took up the entire table, so Sophie and Nick decided to head to the couch to watch some Fox News. Kimmy and I headed out to the porch to watch the beach and people.

"How is everything back home?" Kimmy asked trying to not show much worry.

"He's not coming back... I'm glad for that," I say referring to my bastard step-father. Kimmy answered with a nod. We sat there in silence for a bit, while eating our hamburgers.

"Well, I heard Zander was excited to see someone special," wiggling her eyebrows at me, all I could do was roll my eyes and smirk at her.

"What? I'm saying the honest truth. He wouldn't shut up about it ever since he found out you were comin' this summer."

"Don't be tryin' to hook us up again Kim!" staring at her with a death glare. She giggled trying to hold back the laugh of when Thomas and her tried to hook up Zander and me. I got up from my comfy seat, staring at the beautiful dark sky. I walked into the house with Kimmy following behind me. We enter into the kitchen, I immediatly see Matt helping himself to whatever was left of the food. Matt had this look to him that made you want to drool and stare at him all day. He long, lean body with his scruffy black hair could make anyone just stop and stare.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer babe," whispered Kim. I glare at her, I knew she was right. He wasn't hard on the eyes, inside I felt to scared to flirt with him. I am confident in myself, so I had no idea what the problem was.

"Hey, um we're all gonna head out to the pier. Do you girls wanna come?" Matt said, suddenly next to me.

"Uh, yeah sure why not?" trying to sound cool, not really working since I could see the smirk on his face as he saw me so startled to see him magically appear next to me. I can Kimmy and Thomas already out the door, hand in hand,with Kimmy giggling like a like 12 year old who has a crush. Of course, Zander with his muscles surprises picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. I groan, irrated by his constant presence, but laughing a bit at his super-ego. Joey and Jake make their way out with no second glance at me. With Zander walking with his long glides, I was being swayed back and forth probably looking like an idiot. Looking back at Matt, his broad shoulders and nothing but a thin dark grey hoodie on and some shorts on, he had his head down and hands in his pocket. I wonder what goes through his mind, but then realize it doesn't matter much to me.

            When we arrive to the pier, I'm just about to be dropped when I feel a hand slap my ass. Oh Zander, his faced showed so much "pride." I smack him in the arm, but the only reaction I can get out of him is just his attractive smirk.

"He's a handful huh?" I hear as a big hand grabs on to mine. I hope my blush wont show with all these bright lights from all the little game stands on the boardwalk. I look down slightly at his hand holding mine, feeling the heat and him walking even closer next to me. I could just feel my heartbeat start to race, and as if in an old cheesy book. I would think "oh I bet he can hear my heart beat so loudly."

"Oh yeah, you have no idea." I said with a little smirk looking at how far ahead Zander was.

"So you two? You guys had a history right" he said not making any eye contact, being distracted by all the sounds and lights.
