"Bye Skyler!"
I waved vigorously in reply with a bright smile plastered across my face.
Finally! School's over!I joyfully head home, thinking about which nextflix show I should start binge watching. "Shoot! I forgot!" I muttered. Taking a sharp left turn, I head to the pet store.
"Did you get a new cat or something?" Bailey asked as she scanned the cat food. She was my neighbour and also a part-timer at Animal Lovers, the local pet store.
"Not exactly, I just found this stray cat which is the CUTEST. THING. EVER." I gushed. Bailey raised an eyebrow. "Just be careful, it may be sick with something." I nodded, grabbing the cat food. Bailey sometimes seemed like my non-existent older sister.
I head out of the pet store and made my way to the border.
What border? The border between the rich and the poor. Not that there was a literal border; and not that the poor were actually poverty-stricken poor. It's just an exaggeration. The word "rich", however, is not exaggerated. They are actually rich rich. Like I have ten sports cars, a mansion and my own private holiday home rich.
Sover Del District is the rich turf while Dunken Drive is home to the middle-income and less fortunate. I'm not that great at names but even I can tell that "Dunken Drive" isn't exactly the type of neighbourhood you would expect to be worth millions.
These two neighbourhoods are located right next to each other. However, the people from each neighbourhood just don't mix. Almost as if they despise each other. Hence the border.
There isn't an official border but everyone from their respective neighbourhood knows about it. And they don't cross it. You just don't.
But I'm going there anyways for cute stray cats.

"psst pssst"
"Caramel!"
"tsk tsk tsk"I frowned, sitting cross-legged on the grass.
Where was she? I even bought food for her. Should I just give up and head home?
No. I am not about to waste my pocket money. I will find Caramel.
I stood up, gaining back my resolve.
Where could she be....
"Caramel!" I called, checking under each bench.
"psst psssst, I've got food!"Wait. Maybe if she smells the food she'll come.
I opened one of the cans of wet food and held it out. I walked around some more, hoping that the smell will somehow attract her.
I squint my eyes as I tried to spot a cat among the long blades of grass.
Wait a minute. Is that a cat's tail I see!?
Wasting no time, I quickly chased after the tail, still holding out the cat food. "Caramel!" I called, struggling to find the tail again. "Ugh where did she go?" I muttered.
I turned around and out of the corner of my eye-
"Caramel!"Ok. This time, I am NOT losing her.
Eyes locked onto my prey, I ran full speed ahead.
Because of how passionate and dedicated I was to catch Caramel, I didn't notice the stupid, darn rock that made me trip in the most ungraceful way possible.
"Ouch," I groaned, brushing the dirt off my hands and checking out the fresh scrapes on them.
"Are you the one who keeps screaming Caramel?" an annoyed voice asked.
I looked up and set my eyes on the most perfect boy ever. He had black hair that was styled in a messy bed hair style but hot. His dark green eyes looked me up and down, his pinkish lips pulled down in an unamused frown.
"I-"
"By the way, you better get this cleaned."He shrugged off his blazer and tossed it at me. It was stained with cat food.
"I'm so sorry!" I apologised profusely.
I'm such an idiot!
"I'll get it cleaned, I promise... I'll make sure it'll be good as new!""Of course you will," He replied in a matter-of-fact tone as he stood up. "When you finally get it cleaned, just pass it to the General Office in school."
Wait... what school?
I looked down at the blazer.
"Well...ston....high..... Wellston High!?"But when I looked up, he was gone.
I gulped and looked back down at the blazer again.
His name was Alexus Ryan.
