Sebastian

After speaking with King Morgan, I was a bit shaken up. I could never understand how anyone could be as cruel as the King of the North.

I was only there because my father figured out I was hiding at the Eastern Kingdom and threatened to take me back to the Western Kingdom if I didn't go to the North to confess everything I knew about Blase. Which I didn't. Well, not everything.

"I heard you know a witch." The king had said, his son, looking very uncomfortable, at his side.

"Sort of, yes." I replied, shifting on my feet nervously. King Morgan wouldn't let me inside his palace gates so we were awkwardly having this conversation from the outside.

"Witches are trouble," he sniffed. "Trust me. It only ends in tears."

"I never said we were friends."

"Your father told me you had a very close relationship with this witch, was he lying?"

Of course he would, I thought.

"It doesn't matter, what did you call me here for?"

The king checked his nails, I got major gay vibes from him. "I called you here to talk about the witch, obviously. What do you know about him? I'm guessing a lot."

I pressed my lips together. He wouldn't get mad at me for telling the king a little bit about him, right? "His name is Blase Novaro. He's 22, he doesn't like dogs, he-"

"Novaro?" The king sounded concerned about this. "His last name is Novaro?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Yeah, why?"

"Do you know who the Novaro's are?"

He told me everything about them.

I was shocked.

"Do you know where he would be now?" Asked the King of the North. The fake King of the North.

"No," I lied. "I haven't seen him for a couple of days actually. Not since he showed up at the Western Kingdom."

The king leaned in close to me. I could smell death coming off of him, his irises as white as his hair. "Are you lying to me? The witch hasn't told you any fake news, has he?"

I gulped. "Our relationship wasn't close like that, I hardly know anything about him."

He looked deep into my eyes for a moment and leaned away. "Very well then, you are dismissed."

I was nearing the Eastern Palace gates when I saw Blase leaning against them. I grinned and jogged to him. "Hey, I'm sorry I wasn't here, I was checking out the perfume shops in town."

"You were where?" Blase looked pissed. I opened my mouth to answer him but he interrupted me. "Honestly. I'd like to know exactly where you were."

"What is the matter with you?"

He moved closer to me, he looked like he was about to hit me. "Don't lie to me. I know you were with King Morgan. What were you doing in the North?"

I breathed in sharply and stepped back from him. "It's not what you think, Blase-"

"Really, Bastian? Then what is it? Are you his little spy? Were you the one who told him I was still alive?"

"No, Blase! Listen to me! Please!" I pleaded.

"I'm fucking listening, Sebastian, but you don't have any explanation!"
