Chapter 4 Double Trouble

{Sorry it's been forever since I've updated.}

"Oh uh, come in."

"How are you related to Klaus?" he asked after stepping inside.

I forgot to ask Klaus what I tell people if they ask and who were supposed to know about the deal and who weren't.

"Me? I'm Hayley, I'm uh.."

"Relax she's harmless, pregnant too." he said casually, "Welcome brother." Klaus said on his way down the stairs.

Elijah smiled as they shared a man hug.

"This is Hayley, a woman I knocked up when you were gone." Klaus said smirking.

"What happened to Katerina, Niklaus? I actually believed you were serious about her." Elijah asked.

"I am, I was just drunk one night and this happened."

"and how are you explaining this to her?"

"Relax, she won't be coming back for a couple months. I'll figure it out."

Elijah sighed, "Niklaus your irresponsibility not only hurts people on the way, it's now also hurting your child's future. Is this what you needed help with?"

"Not exactly, I just need you to help me manage the company that's all. Well, I'll be going." he said heading out the door.

"Niklaus, we need to talk about thi-" Elijah said but was cut off by the slam of the door.

"You'll get used to it." I say smiling.

"Hayley was it?" he asked proceeding to the kitchen. I nodded and followed him as he opened the fridge to grab a cold water bottle.

"So what are you doing here?"

"Your brother wants me to stay here so I am." I answer.

He raised a brow.

"It's complicated." I say.

He closed the water bottle and put it back in the corner of the fridge. I checked my watch, "Sorry for the lame welcome but I have to get ready."

"For what?"

"Oh I have a doctors appointment in about an hour. I'm having an ultrasound."

"Is Klaus coming?"

"I told him earlier but I guess he wasn't paying attention considering he just left for work."

"Would you mind me accompanying you? I'd like to see my new niece or nephew."

"Sure, why not." I smile.

I get back upstairs and change into a black tank top and long cardigan with leggings. I take my pony tail off and put my boots on then I walk down the stairs.

"Ready?" I ask.

He nodded. We took his car since it was blocking the Klaus's 5 other cars in the garage. Who needs five cars when you're one person? He says it depends on where he's going then asked why I had such an idiotic question.

I gave Elijah the address and he typed it into his GPS since he doesn't clearly remember Seattle.

When we reached the clinic, I got out of the car and we waited for the elevator.

"Do you have an appointment?" a short blonde nurse asked.

"Yeah 4:30 with Dr. Greene."

She grabbed a list from the counter and scanned it. "Ah, Hayley Marshall was it?"

I nod in agreement.

She leads us to a room with a dark leather chair in the center. Patting the chair, she smiles at me and I sit down.

I sit and she places the gel on my stomach, while I bite my lip to stiffle a laugh.

Hearing the 2 faint heartbeats of my unborn baby made it all too real. I was now a mother.

We left with 3 small photos of the ultrasound. The babies looked a little odd but then again they were only a couple weeks old.

When we get back to the house, Klaus is just getting out of his car on the driveway.

"Where were you two?" He asks.

"At the ultrasound with Dr. Greene, a friend of my mom." I respond.

"And you didn't care to tell me about it?"

"I did." I murmur before going inside the house.

(I actually drafted this 4 years ago and I never posted it even though it was done?? So why not?)

That was a long break lol. I have a new wattpad account that I focus on but I logged back in here and was bombarded with update requests! Really planned on leaving this behind but I'm bored and on vacation and I felt bad lol. sorry for the four year wait 😆
