He sits on the windowsill, the window wide open, a frosty draft sweeping through the quiet room. It looks as if he has a single tear running down his cheek, or maybe that's just a trick of the light. I quietly slip out of my bed, sliding the duvet onto the floor. His ocean blue eyes sparkle in the subtle starlight. The floorboards creak under my feet, and he looks up.

"You okay?" I ask him, another trick of the light rolling down his cheek. He nods slowly, looking at Selene.

"Just needed fresh air," He croaks, smiling wistfully. I walk over to the window, ruffling his hair.

"Don't look so down, Lou." I stroke his arm, goosebumps rising and falling under my touch. He laughs, a sweet sound that carries with the wind. I smile.

"Now, come inside. We don't want you getting a cold," Louis shakes his head.

"Overprotective Harry at it again, eh?" He exclaims, jokingly.

"Always." Starlight glints in his eyes. He searches me, then gets up from his little perch on the windowsill, dragging his feet across the floor, into the kitchen. I follow him. He fills the kettle, switching it on, and grabbing two mugs out of the overhead cupboard. He teeters slightly, struggling to reach. I watch him in awe, a silent drive inspiring him.

"Coffee or tea?" He asks

"At this time of night?"

"Morning," He corrects, "and anyway, I don't think we'll be going back to sleep anytime soon."

"Tea, then." I reply, hiding a grin. I sit on the sofa, folding my legs under myself. Selene is peeking through the curtains, making everything in her path glow a hazy silver.

"What were you doing up so early, anyway?" I question. He pauses for a second, as if making up an excuse.

"Nightmares. Couldn't get to sleep." I nod slowly, trying to believe him. The kettle clicks off, and Louis pours it into our mugs, knowing exactly how I like my tea. He has a gentle precision about him. He delicately scoops a heaped teaspoon of sugar into my mug, stirring it in. He pads towards the sofa, carefully placing the mugs on the coffee table. I smile briefly at him, thanking him with my eyes. His look away in return, staring out into darkness. I sigh to myself, picking up my tea, taking small sips. Louis holds his, but never takes any sips, savouring the stars while they're out. I look at him, Selene dancing over his good side. His eyes twinkle, like they belong up there.

"What're you looking at?" I ask him softly, more tricks of the light welling up in his eyes.

"Nothing," He whispers, the word barely forming anything. I put my tea down, scooching over next to him on the sofa. I ruffle his hair, putting my arms around him sideways. I lean my head on his shoulder. We sit like that for a bit, just rocking back and forwards with the song of the night. He starts to droop in my arms, like a flower without water, gracefully, but sadly, into another slumber haunted by visions and nightmares. I slowly slip away, too, trying to hold onto the last slivers of consciousness.

Helios haunts us. He pierces through the curtains, shining his golden rays down across the apartment. Louis and I are sprawled across the sofa, him in my arms. I feel his body gently convulsing, his breathing ragged and quick, like a thick blanket is covering his lungs. Each exhale causes an involuntary shudder.

"Lou," I say loudly, shaking him. He stirs, his eyes fluttering open for a few seconds, before sealing shut again.

"Mmmf," he murmurs, pushing himself up and off of me. He looks a pale yellow, or maybe that is Helios casting a golden shadow on him. He stretches his arms up, revealing his torso, his pants hanging off of his narrow hips. I try to avert my eyes, but Helios radiates a golden halo around him, bathing him in sunlight. Suddenly, I snap out of it, this haze, this trance, and he abruptly stand.

"I'll be having a shower," He says, his hair falling into his eyes. My gaze follows him as he stalks out of the living room. I look around the apartment. It's a mess. We must've somehow knocked over a cup of tea, so it's all over the coffee table and carpet. I sigh, standing up, collecting the now empty mugs, and putting them on the counter. I lean on it, depending on it like a lifeline, thinking of everything and nothing at the same time. Helios grants me loneliness, disappearing from the window, taking away his golden shimmer. I hear the dribble of the shower coming from the bathroom, confirming Louis' absence. I close my eyes, and see. I sing, obscure words melting out of my mouth, melodies forming perfectly in balance together. They're not even words anymore. Just fragments of feelings bursting out of me in a careful nonchalance. I float around the room, Helios joining me to dance. His warmth spreads  across the living room, along with a smile across my face. Then Louis suddenly joins me. I freeze up; I didn't realise he was there. But then I go with it, harmonising with him. Our eyes are open; our hearts, too. We're perfectly vulnerable, somehow, just belting out incoherent lyrics. Our smiles mirror each other's, wide and bright, happy of the place we're in at the moment. His towel clings to his freshly showered hips, damp hair sticking to his forehead, and eyes brighter than the stars we witnessed last night.

And then it all stops.

* * *

Hey guys! I don't really know what to say here, as I am very awkward (even in writing!) But basically, I'm am most probably going to continue this in the foreseeable future!

Also a lil' disclaimer so things make a little more sense:
Selene- moon
Helios- sun

I'll probably use those throughout the rest of the story, so I apologise in advance for the confusion hehe.

Thanks for reading, anyway!
