SILENCE HAD taken over Melody's room; as her and Reno sat on opposite sides of the bed facing away. She wanted him to leave. But he wasn't allowed to leave her side until they knew she wasn't a 'flight risk'. Reno was just as taken back as she probably was, she was assuming. No one forewarned him he'd be playing the role of a babysitter until she could be trusted. Where was she even going to go? Food? To a computer? Reno was clearly annoyed but it could be worse; especially as he snuck a glance of her tiny form. Could be worse company she was quiet at least— and cute. And this would probably be the easiest mission he'd ever been given, with at least knowing he couldn't get hurt anytime soon.

Reno turned so he was directly facing her now. She didn't seem to notice as her legs were pulled into her chest and her head was resting atop them. He could see the fear in her eyes clear as day from the moment he stepped foot into her apartment. She was so young and blind to so much- all while trying to do something so big. For once Reno felt bad for someone... even if this was her own fault.

"Yo." he said trying to get her attention.

"Yes?" she turned her head to look at him. She seemed surprised that he was talking to her.

It was then that he realized he didn't get far enough to think what he'd say once he got her attention. It was almost humbling to him to be taken so far out of his element- realizing for once he didn't have a snarky comment or have to fight. So Reno stared into her eyes for a solid few seconds trying to think of something to say, "you're not going to make my job hard right?"

"No," she shook her head right away. Now she was sitting upright so they were both facing each other not just him, "I'm not a very difficult person."

"Good. I did notice with how nicely you came along with us."

"What was I suppose to do? Refuse?" Melody almost laughed; a tiny girl like her versus two trained (what she assumed to be) assassins?

"Point taken." Reno couldn't help but look at this girl and think she was rather pretty, and not like how before where he'd comment on her being cute because she was a girl. Her long locks framed her face- her big brown eyes staring at him in a desperate fashion. He was attracted to her, sure. But this was a job and she did try to steal Shinra intel. Reno couldn't form his official opinion on her quite yet.

"You seemed.. surprised earlier too."

"No one told me I'd get to follow your every move. So yeah, I was pretty surprised."

She nodded in that both of them were in for some shock tonight- that neither really wanted to be there. Some common ground at least. It was hard for Melody to tear her eyes away from the red headed Turk- she thought he had to be the most attractive man she'd ever seen. She couldn't explain why his eyes looked so soft when he looked at her. He was pretty, genuinely pretty. A soft smirk adorned his lips as he kept looking her up and down. It was ironic how they both have thoughts of one another, of complete strangers.
