TAEHYUNG'S HANDS WERE SHAKING AT THIS POINT. Hoseok carefully watched the boy as he was now at the point of collapsing on the ground since his knees were buckling so much.

"Ta-Taehyung. What's wrong?" Hoseok asked but Taehyung paid no heed to that. Before he could do or say anything, the boy in front of him hurriedly turned his heels and sprinted out into the darkness.

Hoseok stood there as he watched the boy's figure being dissolved in the darkness. And then, the reality hit him hard like a train hitting him while he walking on the rail tracks.

It was his only chance, and he wasn't missing it at all.

"Yah! Taehyung-ah wait!" Hoseok screamed at the boy before his legs sprinted behind the boy who was now aimlessly running.

Hoseok kept running behind and kept shouting at the boy. But it was as if he was ignoring him or just couldn't hear him.

But still, Hoseok kept running and running,

not stopping a moment.

---

His vision was empty.

All he saw was blurry images of his sister and dad.

Never in a million years, he's sister would dare to call him. She'd normally text the younger. It was just a siblings thing his sister and he had. But one look at the caller ID, he knew something was wrong

His ears were ringing, not giving a damn about anything. The younger kept running, ignoring the dull pain in his legs.

The boy kept running, following the familiar path he's been well-known for years. And before he could even realize,

He was in front of the building.

---

Hoseok was almost out of breath. He thought maybe he might pass out from the amount of running. The last time he ran like this was in the run era. But nothing could compare to this.

"H-hey....w-wait...Tae......I'm...Tired..." Hoseok blurted out and placed his hands on his hips. He took a big gulp of air and looked in front.

Taehyung wasn't running anymore this time. Instead, he paused for a second. ".....Taehyung?" Hoseok asked and inched a bit closer but cautiously.

Hoseok kept inching but the latter didn't even move a single finger. Weird, Hoseok thought as he kept inching towards the boy.

Hoseok called again, but the boy was completely still as if he was trying to hear something very carefully.

Okay, now what do I do? Hoseok asked himself as he stared at the other Taehyung, frozen on his spot.

He didn't know where the bravery came from, but he carefully and slowly lifted his hand. Very silently and carefully the male kept his hand on the other's shoulder.

But then, as if he could feel his touch, Taehyung sprinted again. But this time it wasn't in the darkness, this time he entered the building in front of him.

Hoseok watched as the boy entered the shabby old building. And before he could follow the latter, the male was interrupted by a piercing scream coming from the above.

A chill ran down his spine as Hoseok was now frozen. Now is not a good time to see ghosts, the male thought and gulped audibly.

He had seen a lot of horror movies that this was a damn bad idea but he still looked up because his stupidity was much more than his intelligence.

But he wasn't met by any woman with black eyes or some demons laughing at him, instead, he saw a window.

He was now shocked than scared. Through the window, a man was holding a woman by her hair pulling with an iron grip before he threw her towards the wall. The man was abusing that woman and that was a heinous crime. The first thing that came into his mind was to call the police. He quickly pulled out his phone and was about to call 112 but then he realized that his phone would not work in this world.

He cursed under his breath and looked up at the window. And then at the entrance of the building where Taehyung rushed in.

What if, just what if, it was similar to that story? No, wait? Hoseok seems to ask himself as he kept looking back and forth at the entrance and the window.

But if it was, then one thing Hoseok understood was that whatever was happening was in his hands and he had no time in his hands.

The male didn't think twice before rushing towards the building. Unlike the other, Hoseok took the elevator. He got inside and punched the digits, looking at the window he assumed it was floor 7.

He impatiently tapped his foot as the small elevator now kept going upwards slowly. "Come on.." He muttered under his breath and carded his hand through his hair. His heart was pounding in his chest out of fear.

He didn't know why but a gut feeling told him to stop that boy from whatever he was going to do. It wasn't that he didn't do it before. But the difference was that it was acting and this was happing in real life.

His head shot up as soon as he heard the little ting from the elevator, meaning he was on the 7th floor.

The male rushed outside and screamed at the top of his lungs, not caring about the others being disturbed by it. "Taehyung! Where are you?!"

He looked around to see where he was. And then the fear settled in. He thought he messed up with the floors or just assumed wrong. Maybe he was late...

But somehow, fate seems to stay by his side. The light footsteps filled his ears as he jerked his head towards that direction. He quickly rushed to that place as fast as he could.

He threw his formalities out of the window as he pushed open the door and stepped inside one of the shabby apartments. There was Taehyung, a broken glass bottle in his hands, ready to hit his father in the stomach.

With a great force, the male swung the bottle up in the air. Taehyung's sister screamed in agony, trying to stop the younger.

But before anything could happen, Hoseok swiftly dodged the bottle and put a great amount of force on Taehyung's hand. As a result the younger lost balance and the broken bottle landed on the nearby wall.

The whole apartment was now filled with the sound of the glass shattering into pieces. And then there was silence.

"N-no.," Taehyung muttered as Hoseok looked at the boy staring at the shattered bottle. His father scoffed and brushed pass the younger out of the apartment.

Taehyung's sister had her mouth covered by her palm. She slid down the floor, crying.

Hoseok sighed as he watched the younger, slowly sitting up at the place where his father was standing a few minutes ago.

Hoseok took a few steps back before his back collided with the wooden wall. He sat against the wall as he saw Taehyung was now full-on sobbing, knees up to his chest.

At that moment, Hoseok felt it. The dull ache in his body. He could feel how tired he was. His eyes were slowly closing by themselves. But before he could be pulled by the darkness,

He saw the glass shattering.
