It's been a week since you've been to the new school in Riverdale. You're only really settling in okay because Archie's always there for moral support. Veronica helps out as well, but she doesn't talk to you much. You feel somewhat pushed to the side when you try and talk to her. It makes you think that maybe you've upset her in one way or another. Or perhaps she's just like that with some people. I guess it's too early yet to know someone's judge of character.
Archie walks to school with you and texts Veronica to meet up with the two of you on the way there. As it's just the two of you, Archie talks about last week..."So, what do you think of Jughead then?"
He asks with a grin.
"He's nice."
You try to reply as casually as possible.
"Just nice?"
You nod, looking up at him.
"Both of your faces went beetroot red when you saw each other. You're single... And he's single." Archie tries his hardest to persuade you to say what you've been holding back from saying.
"...and I don't know him that well." You chuckle.
"I could set you two up!"
He suggests with excitement.
"Archie, no. That is not happening!"
You continue to giggle whist trying to hold your feelings in.
"Well, wether I help you or not, I know it's going to happen." You sigh heavily as you roll your eyes at him.
Veronica's stood with her arms crossed on the side of a dark green patch of grass, giving Archie a death stare."Were going to be late." She explains stubbornly, before the three of you walk up the rest of the way.
- Four hours later -
Lunchtime rolls around, and after chemistry, you and Archie have the same idea of spending time at Pop's. You two aren't the only recognisable faces in the restaurant though.
Archie raises an eyebrow once he sees one of the back tables. You look over, somewhat intimidated, but of course you both go. As soon as you sit down, you feel someone staring. You look up timidly into Jugheads gase. Archie looks back and forth at the both of you before interrupting.
"Me and Ve were going to have dinner tonight, you two should come."
"I don't really like third wheeling." You explain whilst hesitating.
"Unless if you mean like a double date?" He asks over to Archie.
"Yeah, like a double date." Archie replies smirking over at you.
"Are you down for that y/n?" Jughead asks with wide eyes.
"Yes." You say sweetly.Archie looks down at his phone.
"Y/n, it's 1:15, we've got to go." He says with slight urgency.
You rustle your backpack, as the zip is tugged a few times before successful concealing the bag.
"I'll see you tonight." Jughead says softly.
"See you tonight." You wave back before leaving Pop's quickly.
