Betty's mum got in touch with me about writing in the school newspaper for her to help find out who was responsible for Betty's death. Her mum and dad are of course, doing their part by doing the same thing, (Reporting Betty's passing) as well as looking into possibly getting a private investigator to resolve this.

'Any information regarding her death is much appreciated if reported to the Riverdale police department.'

The most heartbreaking and difficult report I've ever had to make. Even just typing out a sentence as formal as that just made everything seem soo much more real.

11:34pm

I slump my body on the bed heavily as I let out a sigh. My phone vibrates in my right Jean pocket.

"I'll meet you round the back of pops in 5."

As I slouch my body upright, I grab my leather jacket and head out as quickly as I can. I sneak round the back of the building suspicioully glancing round the area... Just in case it has any involvement with y'know... 'pancake mix'.
As I can see the dim neon lights show at the back of his ginger head, I walk up from behind.
"Hey, I'm glad you're here. I got this letter around this woods area." Archie hands you a crinkled letter. As I open it up I notice the cryptic message from the hooded killer.
"We'd already cracked this, remember?" I say.
"Look at the back." He whispers.

"So you think that I'm associated with daddies little rich girl?"

Is written messily with the ink slightly smudged. We both looked up to each other in shock. No words.
Before Archie continues to talk, he's rudely interrupted:

"Oh, so what are you two birdbrains doing out here when it's soo cold and dark out?" A bitterly false voice asks from behind us.
"Well we could ask you two the same question..." Archie says with his arms folded as Cheryl raises a eyebrow with a small frown.
"Actually, me and Kevin we're looking for his new friend, have you seen him anywhere? His name's Jo. Black hair, looks like he hasn't showered in three weeks?"
"Hey!" he exclaims sharply, looking deeply offended.
"Oh I'm only joking." Cheryl sniggers unconvincingly.
"We haven't seen anyone that looks like that, sorry." I explain to Kevin.
Cheryl smiles curiosity before asking
"What's in your hand?"
"Nothing."
I shove the paper in my pocket whilst shrugging, trying my hardest not to look shifty.
Cheryl narrows her eyes whilst looking at both of us as if we'd just commited a crime.
"Well..." She sighs, "I just thought that It'd be in my place to let you know that there's a new student coming in to Riverdale. If I don't accept them, then I'm sure that you two will. "
She grins sarcastically excusing herself before pulling Kevin's arm and leaving dramatically.

Archie turns to me with a frightened look. He grabs both of my shoulders, staring at me.

"Jughead, we can't tell sheriff Keller about this letter. He's going to get us in trouble and my dad's going to keep me grounded for as long as he can and the investigation will stop here. We'll never find answers for Betty." He stresses anxiously.
"Whoever it is has been spying on us Archie. More specifically, someone who knows your opinion on Veronica's dad! I mean what if you're their next victim! We have leads, we should just take this to the police..."
I express with great fear, shaking  to show my concern, as I continue.
"You know that I have a distrust in the police, but you can't risk your life. It's ethier you hand this over to the police... Or you continue this investigation alone."
I say bitterly before walking back round the front of  Pop's as the concrete scatters away from beneath my feet and the air gets progressively colder, to the point that it sends shivers down my back. As I zip up my rusty leather jacket, I head on home. Archie stands round the back of the building, lost for what to say, going in the opposite direction.
