A tired sigh fell from my lips as I rest my head on the dirty bus's window, seeing the tall trees pass by in a blur. The soft murmur of the engine and the old women talking behind you filled the small uncomfortable bus, the smell of mold and wet dog made my stomach twist in disgust.

It's been a hard month for me. First, my best friend and coworker disappears, only leaving me a note saying that her aunt has died and left her a huge amount of money and a house in the middle of nowhere. Without her, the dinner had become really difficult to work since now I was the only waitress there. Spending my days hearing awful pick-ups lines from drunk men or my boss yelling about some shit that the cooker made.

It was awful but to my luck, it becomes even more awful. After a long shift at work, I arrive at my apartment and found my four years boyfriend in bed with my neighbor. That night was a disaster, there were screams and shouts. You and Josh throwing insults to each other which hurt me even more, and in the end, I basically throw Josh out of my apartment. Swearing that if he comes back, I would rip his dick off. I've cried myself to sleep that day, tired of all the bullshit and awful life.

Two days later, I've received a message from Kylie, saying to come to visit her in Midnight Hollow. And that leads me here, to this smelly bus, on my way to Midnight Hollow.

"I've heard from my neighbor that Mothman is on the hunt again!" the old lady behind me whisper to her friend, who gasps in fear.

"Really?!" she whispers back.

I roll my eyes and put my headphones, muffling the old ladies' voice with my favorite music. Mothman? Really? I don't believe that there are people who believe in those stupid urban stories. Those are stories to tell the kids, to scare them from going outside at night and keep them in line. Closing my eyes, I nap the rest of the trip.

I woke up as I feel the bus coming to a stop, hearing the old women grabbing their bags. I look outside and saw that I literally in the middle of nowhere, tall trees surrounding us. I saw the old ladies walking down the road, talking cheerfully to each other, following the small path to the nearest village.

I grab my bag and walk towards the driver. "Excuse me? Isn't the last stop in Midnight Hollow?" I asked, confused by not seeing anything but trees.

The driver's face pales and shook slowly his head. "This is the last stop, Ma'am... To go to Midnight Hollow, follow the road and never turn," he said quickly, trying to shove me out of the bus. I get out of the vehicle and look up to the pale man with a frown on my face, noticing how nervous he was but instead of resuming of why he didn't want to take me to the damn town, I shrug my shoulders and begin my long walk.

In my mind, I was forming a big speech to show Kylie how mad I was. Why in the hell she didn't tell me that there weren't buses going there?! I could have asked my brother for a ride instead of walking miles to a strange town.
