I sit in the cafeteria
My eyes lock on the boy of my dreams
Feelings of happiness bubble up, a warm fuzzy feeling
He glances over and I try to catch my breath
A broad smile appears on his face
Does he notice me?
A flash of color, a frilly dress
The girl prances over to embrace him
The girl who has stolen him away
Tears spring to my eyes as they walk off, hand in hand

It is several hours later
It is after school, me and the boy are alone
I feel his presence next to me as I walk him to the car
A wave of courage passes through me
And passes
We are almost to the spot where we will say farewell
Until the next day
Another spot of bravery comes forth
I ask the question
"Are you dating anyone?"
He shakes his head no and smiles back at me
The car door opens and he gets in
We wave goodby

It is the next day
He is with that girl again
Rumors spread that she broke up with her old boyfriend
To be with HIM
She grabs his hand and glares over her sholder at me
They start to walk away
I feel my heart split in two and i am empty inside
I feel my heart ach for him
He glances over his sholder, and gives me that smile
That smile . . . :)
