*3 hours later*
My family is all loaded into the family can while I'm driving my own car. I see a big sign right in front of me. Lakeside College, my home for the next four years. I change lanes and turn into the college while my parents follow me. I drive down the road slowly looking at all the campus students walk around. I then turn into the parking lot driving around until I find a spot for myself and my family. I take a deep breath before laying my head on my steering wheel. Come on Ashley you can do this. I take the keys out of my car and step out. I walk around to my car and walk over to my family waiting for me.
"Who's ready to start her first day?" my mom says cheerfully.
I force a smile on face.
"Ashley I know you're nervous. It's ok to be on the first day." my dad chimes in.
I now in agreement.
Just then a familiar voice shouts in the distance.
"ASHLEY!!!!!" shouts the voice
I turn around. What the hell now? Suddenly I run over and see my best friend Nicole.
"OH MY GOD! IT'S YOU NICOLE!" I shout while I give her a big squeeze.
"It's been forever. Well not really 3 months. But you get the point. How've you been girlfriend?"
"Ah ya know. College cheerleading."
"Oh you and cheerleading. I wish I was like you. So committed and sassy."
I let out a little laugh. "Nicole. I'll always put you over cheer."
"I know. So you just get here?"
"Actually yes. Where are your parents?"
"Oh..they couldn't come. Their in Greece. Couldn't come to support their only child moving on in life. But I promise well have dinner with them soon."
I giggle. Nicole's parents are famous business CEO's. Always traveling and doing business stuff. I've always been like a sister to her since she's always lonely. We decided to apply to the same colleges so we can be together always and forever.
"So...I've already seen some cute guys who seem to be single." Nicole says blushing.
"You are so boy crazy Nicole." I say.
"Ahem." my mom says standing behind me.
I turn around and see my dad and sister standing behind her. Kinda forget they were here.
"Are you two ready to become college freshman?" asks my mom.
"Of course!" Nicole says jumping up and down.
"Of course you are Nicole. I expect nothing less from my pretend daughter."
I roll my eyes.
"Can we stop please?" I chime in.
"Ok. Fine but I'm trying to find myself a college boy." Nicole says flipping her hair.
We all laugh at her. We all walk together in a group heading into the student check-in at what looks to the hall. We all walk into the hall and stand in a long line of other college freshman. I look around and feel overwhelmed by the amount of people being crammed into one tiny lobby. I deep breath to calm myself.
"You ok dear?" asks my dad.
"Yeah. Just over whelmed." I say.
"Its gonna be ok." He says giving me a hug.
